APMerry Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Kwaki Er-6n or Yammy MT-07 are great bikes. I can't get on with suzukis. Too heavy. Er6 will restrict down ok. Yeah, my instructor told me Suzukis are really top heavy?

It weighed or at least felt heavier than a Yammy XJ600 I rode on my test. It was really hard to get it to lean in without having to drag the back brake to get round tight-ish bends.

arwen Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Well done Bompalompalomp ! Now the fun biking shopping starts I'm another one who feels Szukis are heavy. I do have rather short legs though. I did MOD1 on an old SV650 with a lowered seat and found it very annoying to hold at a stop, manual moving around and I couldn't really reach the rear break when I had my left foot on the ground... I felt the weight was too far forward for my liking. However the bandit my other half had felt fine (although I never did ride it) The old XJ600 i done MOD 2 on I really enjoyed. Although I could get less of my foot down on that one than the SV650, it felt much lighter at a stop and simply fell into the corners when I wanted it too, unlike the sv650 which I was fighting a lot of the time. None are a patch on my F700GS though. Fell in love with it on the test ride and never looked back :-D

Cleaned it, then doused it all over in ACF50 head to toe except the brakes. Doesn't feel right spraying liquids onto the electrics though!!

The temp is going up here, the only warnings we've had for this week is fog thankfully. I'm so used to a 125 though I'm struggling to keep it below 30! One twist of the wrist on second or third and I'm already breaking the limit...

It stalled at a junction and struggled to start it back up... then nearing work I started to get a judder at low revs. I'm thinking something might be blocked / partially blocked. Think I'll take it in for a good old clean at a garage so they can check it all over.

Think I'll take it in for a good old clean at a garage so they can check it all over. My bike was suffering with this exact same issue. Apparently whatever provides fuel at low gear (yeah, I know little to nothing about engines so to me its a magic box that turns fuel into motion) was blocked with sludge - sludge that we can only surmise came from the petrol station I frequent! The garage were quite surprised when they did the 600 mile service, as they'd not seen such a build up so quickly on a new bike.

I know basic things about engines... (I once put oil in a car and a bit of water and I've changed a wheel) Might be easier to take it somewhere. Can't imagine it would cost the earth.

You would only really notice it at low revs and the engine tone may sound a little different (deeper). This happened to me a few months ago, I restarted the ignition and all was well, I did run a couple of tanks of premium unleaded through after this (may or may not have helped). It could also suggest an issue with the timing chain.

headoned Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 yep K5 in red iv just drained the old fuel now I need to get the tank off and clean the fuel pump before I can start her up and change the oil, filters and plugs
