I'm currently riding a 2014 Honda NC 750 XA which has about 30,000 on the clock. As I don't drive a car I use it all year round and have been all over the country on it. She's scuffed and has paint coming off the radiator and engine casing but she's a solid bit of kit. Long term though she is going to be replaced with a Yamaha FJR1300 as I want a shaft drive with more grunt for 2 up long distance riding as my fiancee wants to ride pilliuon during the summer months so we don't have to use the car.

I would agree with everyone else in that an SSD upgrade either 120 if your image size is small enough and a RAM upgrade to 8GB will give them a whole new lease of lifeand they will run Windows 10 just fine. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using EduGeek mobile app

I know the schools in question as I work for the company that used to used to provide IT support for one of them.

A primary school that we support is in looking at buying some tablets and I'm in need of some recommendations to take to them. I need to find options for both Windows 10 and Android both options need to have wireless charging and storage cabinets, detachable magnetic keyboards and be as childproof as possible. The only other thing is they cannot be Learn Pads.

I have been asked to come up with a way to allow 2 schools who use different internet providers to share data between themselves. The other school has already looked at using SharePoint and OneDrive but has ruled it out as they said it was not responsive enough. I have thought about a VPN but the other school uses the counties broadband system and its a real pain to connect through that if you are outside of it.

Okay I will admit that I have spent too long now doing business support for the firm I work for but now I have been tasked with building designing and building a new school network. This also entails creating all the group policies for staff and students from scratch. What I'm after is a bit of a cheat's guide to help me speed up the process as I am having to do everything from printer and share deployment through roaming profiles to locking down the systems. The school goes from reception up to year 6 and uses a mix of laptops and desktop pc's along with laptops for all the staff. I have also got to document all the group polices used and the impact that they will have on security so any help will be gratefully appreciated.

We use sage here and the password part is done by Sage itself. When it was first set up it created a random password for each person but you can go and change it.

The firm I work for switched to electronic payslips in April and so far we have had no problems with them. They are emailed to us as a password protected pdf file and the only person who knows that password besides the recipient is the person who does the wages.

We have already looked and it has to be done with wireless there is no way to run a cable. With regards to interference it is a straight line of sight with no obstructions externally. Internally in the in the target building there are 3 exposed steel roof trusses which my boss is aware of but he says they should not interfere with the wireless signal.

We cannot run a cable as the people who own the buildings do not own the ground between them so it has to bed wireless.

I am looking for a simple and cheap solution for an on going problem. We have 2 buildings seperated by about 20 meters of open ground. In building one is a router which has a directional antenna attached to it aimed through a window at a dormer window building 2. The aim of this is to provide wireless internet access to building 2. All the way across the open ground right upto the wall of building 2 you can access the internet via the wireless with no problem. However once inside building 2 you can still see the wireless signal but it is very difficult to connect to it and when you do manage too you cannot browse the net. The ideas I have throwing around are: a) to set up a wireless bridge between the 2 buildings but that would mean replacing the router in building one as the current one doesn't support bridging and then installing a second router and an AP in building 2. b) to set up a repeater in building 2 attached to an omni-directional antenna located as high up as we can get it. Any other ideas or suggestions gratefully received as I have to give my boss an answer by end of work today

Thank you I've found a script online that I'm trying to modify as well but I think it is a bit on the complicated side. It seems to work but it uses a lot of variables and seems to have written to backup someones user profile which is useful but not what I'm really after

My boss today saw me playing around with Robocopy at work, I was using it to backup my laptop to one of our servers and he asked me if it was possible to create a script that could be used to create a folder on an external hard drive with the file name based upon the current date and time and then use Robocopy to backup specfic folders to. Not only that it would have to do a full backup initally followed an incremental back there after. ie: Backup1-1-11 Full backup Backup2-1-11 Incremental backup Backup2-1-11 Incremental backup and so on... Now my scripting knowledge is basically nil apart from doing logon scripts but I think it is possible but I need to find a definate answer.

Had phone call the other evening from a person calling on behalf of UNISON asking if I was striking next week. They seemed a bit surprised when I told them that I hadn't been a member for over 4 years since I left working in Education and that it didn't affect me.

Just tried that and it backed up every file in the folder I selected including all the hidden and system files so I think I will have to rethink it and find a way of missing them out

I'm thinking of getting my NAS box out or the cupboard where it has been languishing for about a year and setting it backup again now I have got my home office almost sorted and using it as a backup device for my desktop PC. The one problem I have is that Windows 7 Home Premium backup software doesn't support backing up to network drive and I don't really want to upgrade to Professional or Ultimate if I can really avoid it and I don't want to pay out for additional software if I can do it for free. I know it is possible to create a VHD drive on the nas box and attach that as a local drive but the last time I tried it it wouldn't format the VHD drive so if anyone any suggestions for a solution I would be grateful.

Illegal software on computers is rife in the area where I work as there are numerous computer shops offering second hand systems with Windows 7 on them for £50 upwards

Yep there was about 180MB free on the drive lol

Just had a gentleman come into the place where I work with an aging Dell Desktop saying that he had just brought it the other day and could he have a look at it as it was running slow and saying the hdd was full. I put it on the bench and fired it up to find a P4 1.7 with 768MB PC133 RAM a 30GB HDD running windows 7 Ultimate, Office 2007 Enterprise and Photoshop CS5 When I explained when I explained this to him and told him that the software was not legal he asked what could be done I told that the system would have to be reinstalled using the Windows XP Home COA on the case he told me that a friend had offered to install Windows 8 on it for £20 and that would fix all his problems he was having. With that he picked up his system and left...... As they say "Some people never learn".

I was wondering if anyone has any Lion Server manuals (in pdf preferably) that they can send me as I need to read up on it to see if it is suitable for a client of ours. I have looked on the Apple site and could find them for Snow Leopard but not Lion. Thanks in advance Richard
