TIOAOA Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) After just nearly chocking at the price Royal Mail were asking to send a parcel I thought I'd ask the collective if you guys and gals had any recommendations on couriers. Got a couple of laptops to be sent off for repair and I'd love the postage to be cheaper than buying new ones (which could be difficult with some of VeryPC's extremely good quotes) So go ahead, brainstorm begins. Arthur Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Hermes (they are cheap for a reason though). A better option would be to visit the InterParcel or ParcelMonkey website and get prices from multiple couriers.

bossman Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 ICT Direct, DPD and myself have at least one issue with parcel delivery or actually picking up something on the wrong day which was marked for pickup the following day and delivered to the wrong company hehe! Ask Dave, I think they eventually returned the goods to ICT Direct

DPD are brilliant at getting the package there. They're reasonably priced too. You'll get a text on day of delivery with the hour window that you can expect your parcel to arrive in. You'll also be able to track the driver on a map which is cool. Depending on your area, you might even be able to drop the parcel off at your local post office for collection.

Ask Dave, I think they eventually returned the goods to ICT Direct Good point. Whilst the delivery side of things seems to be great, I think they could improve their colelctions system. We've had a few problems getting goods back from the customer in the event of a warranty, or changed order. That said, more than 90% of the time it goes perfectly. Like all couriers, I think a lot depends on the driver you get.
localzuk Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 DPD seem good down here, as are TNT. UPS are a little "overly fast" in that they sling things around a lot. Hermes are spotty at best. CityLink are superb down here too, but up in Lancaster they were appalling (one example was them throwing a "you weren't in" card out their van window as they sped past). FedEx are OK, but have a habit of delivering stuff to the wrong place. So, of them all, I'd choose DPD. TNT if I was feeling rich.

abillybob Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Choose Yodel everyday, I hear they're amazing. The chucking distance the drivers have are unbelievable and some people say they don't even have to leave their vans to deliver the parcel. It's like magic and stuffs

It was delivered the day after the guaranteed next day (11hours late) Refund? no, it needs to be a full 24 hours after the guaranteed next day! They really need to alter their wording.
