At least you don't have a horses head sticking out, which would mean you'd have the smelly end in your office!

 

The smelly end is in our office, it's just not a horses rear....i shant say any more

 

We do often say to the kids if they start hanging over the door that they're making it look like a cattle truck

Mines locked if I'm not here and only caretakers have a key to let cleaners in. Have full glass door so they can see if I'm in even if I i forget to turn the lights back on

I think as long as our servers are in our office we will keep the num lock as long as we can,

once we get them moved (one day maybe) a maglock , buzzer system sounds good

 

we have a in out notice on the door , only problem is the kids keep changing it

 

on the point of theft from the office we have had several staff steel from our office in the past !

Our office has a numlock on the door, Site team, Director of ICT for learning, line manager and us have the code!

 

Termtime: Always open if one of us is in the room, closed/locked when no one is in here (Only exception for door being open is in the case of if we're discussing sensitive info / really need to focus on something critical)

Holiday: Always open, no one really around apart from us!

We have an access card lock on our door. The door is open whenever there's somebody in the office. If nobody is in the office it is shut.

Door unlocked when I'm in. Shut, bolted and alarmed when I'm out.

Same as most I think.....unlocked, sometimes open sometimes closed when we're in. Closed and locked when we're out.

If your office also serves as a server room - locking it is absolutely warranted whether or not you are in there. My office and my server room are separate - I keep my door open - but I'm at the back of the school office so no students walk that far in. I keep my door open when in there - and locked when I leave/

Previous college I worked for had a separate IT Office - a lower entrance with spiral staircase leading to upper floor(weird) and server rooms. Number lock on office door , passcard on server room doors (it should be the other way round, but I digress) Staff would complain about ivory towers as you could never be seen - all the time - not helped by the lousy help desk system. Resorted to being mobile instead as it improved communication and response times.
