However, I'm not convinced this is a Bf 109. It looks very similar but there's a couple of things that don't look right to me, like the rounded air intake under the engine and the back of the canopy sloping down the meet the top of the fuselage. Pretty sure that the Bf 109 went straight back. What is is, however, I'm struggling on!

Seb1780 Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 OK, my frame of reference are the Airfix kits I made as a boy, and that was a long time ago. However, it would appear that technically, the "109" isn't a 109. It's a Spanish built Hispano HA112 which were Merlin powered post war developments of the 109G built in Spain. This aircraft is in the Luftwaffe colours it wore during the filming of the movie "Battle of Britain" in 1968.
