Two members of staff have noticed that when they print documents the word "TRUE" appears as a footer on all pages. Does not matter what document format all pages have it. Not just Office, PDFs, .txt etc. I have re-installed the print drivers, this does not solve the issue. One laptop is running Win 7 and the other Win 8.1. Any ideas?

Any print management running? Check to see it there a footer option that adds "True"

Have you checked the paper? (i know it sounds daft but worth checking)

No print management running and checked the paper! As it prints "TRUE" in all different programs including the Windows print Wizard not sure where to check for the footer. Edited by DChurch

Did it start suddenly? Any changes to software/network at the same time? Anything in logs?

This has baffled me but a colleague has seen this exact problem before (so you're not alone) but he can't remember what the fix was... (sorry!)

Some printer drivers support adding a watermark - what make/model is it?

How are the printers connected? e.g. USB then shared over the network, direct LAN connection

Is it just these two members of staff that are affected or does it affect everyone?

Printers are connected wirelessly. Only affects two staff members - everyone else is fine. All HP printers but I tried printing to SMART Notebook printer (virtual printer) and it did the same.

We experienced this issue and it started last week. No matter what printer, even printers that our machine had never been connected to before would print TRUE in all caps in the bottom left of every page. Even if we printed to the adobe PDF printer!

Turns out in our case it was the Intel graphics driver causing havoc, we have 80 odd machines with an identical image that don't have the TRUE issue so I bet the driver was pulled down as an optional MS update. Downloaded a new driver from the boards manufacturer (in this case MSI) installed and voila! No more TRUE. As to the cause we're not sure, maybe something going on with GDI in the windows print process either way a graphics driver update fixed the issue for us.

Good Luck!

Does anyone have any fixes for this? Two of my colleagues have this issue, exclusively on their PCs, but we've not resolved it still after 6 months. Any help would be appreciated.

We saw it with a version of Impero we were using - are you an Impero user? Basically we removed the Impero client and it behaved itself, then we rolled it back out.

Yes we do use Impero, I'll have a check on the affected PCs for it. So you just uninstalled and then it behaved itself? I'll check with my head of Department and try that out.

Thank you for your help :)

Yes, remove the client and reinstall.

We've removed the client and it solved the problem. Does anyone know anything about what caused it? We use Impero version 5.03 and I've found no mention of any "True" error on the Impero website.

Did you ever solve this issue or find a workaround that didn't involve removing the impero client?

I've just had one user come to me that true is printing on to all her pages, she's the only one and we do have impero 5112 on there.

It wasn't anything to do with the printing credit system Impero uses was it (we have it disabled here) but it sounded to me as if it was counting each page it printed.

I see no other reason why impero would add True to each page

I can +1 for removing the impero client. Just had to remove a corrupt install from one of our workstations and the "true" message was removed.

Hi All,

If you have Impero installed and this causing the issue- don't worry, you don't need to remove or reinstall Impero!

To resolve this issue, you can disable print credits on the affected group. This is a known issue caused by creating a new groups but not configuring it's group settings.

Hope this helps.

We had this too. Removing the client only solved the issue short term. Speak to Impero support, they unticked something on the Impero Server software which resolved the issue.
