I'm just hoping there is no 'random visits' which i was told off about last year (No emails or contact from the supplier, just randomly turned up!)

GREED Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 There was a supplier who shall remain nameless who last year was standing at the entrance next to the entrance staff scanning as everyone went in. And often saying they had to be scanned. I have a dim view of then as a result. Think they were royally chastised by i2i as a result too
CAM Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Didn't get any drive-bys, actually quite a few stands didn't bother at all! Then again I only had three hours to wander round. Atomwide spam filter does a good job of catching it though and it gets lost anyway in the torrent of supply agency garbage that lands in my inbox. The bigger pain is the run up to the event as we moved domain on the LA EMail system and I sign up on the new domain whilst BETT sends me spam to pressure my old domain into signing up!

witch Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I am very careful who I allow to scan me - quite a lot of stands had scanners that didn't work so I could give them the email address of the teacher interested in whatever it was. I have had one email so far- always know as they are addressed to Ms Wi Tch !

[Not been that many, TBH] Couldn't find them on the BETT exhibitor list [looks like they WERE there], so I sent a message back congratulating them on getting onto my blacklist... 10 seconds later - Phone call from them. Hung up because I don't have time for sales calls. [my phone could have cut out... The signal is dodgy here.] 20 seconds later - threats via email. Levett Consultancy. Avoid them. Looks like my gut instinct was right. @nickbro You're the HAP+ guy, right? Any comment on this? Is it legit or are they trying to claim credit for someone else's work?

Same as companies offer to install Moodle for you. They do make it look like they created it even if they don't say it outright.

You never know, maybe he'll turn up and say that they're totally legit and sanctioned by him... Le EDIT: HAP+ website lists them as "premium support". Still don't like them, though.
