The bundle we are in is, in theory, unlimited (i.e. no GB/user/device limit). We opted for full cloud (workspace and M365) plus in theory unlimited devices/servers, through their 'Restore Education'. There are bounded costs at 0-25/251-500/501-1000/1001-2000 (and presumably higher) but this came out much better than our current provider. Equally, if you were to do all devices I'm sure that this picked up on. We're also in the process of moving our storage to the cloud, so this would reduce the 'double' of the data onsite and in cloud backup. I've seen a school get hit by this limit in the past. Setup has been really easy, just an installer on the servers/device and connection via a service account for the M365/Workspace (I'm not techincal these days but did some myself).

In my teaching days, I used to take a group of Y12 students (10 maximum, from the IT and Comuter Science classes) for a few reasons: To show the students the new technologies as a 'look at what might be at uni in this subject' To provide some insparation for the A Level computer science projects (if they were struggling with coming up with their own ideas) As an engagement opportunity for recruitement into the subject as a v. cheap trip (used to drive a minibus so covered the milage) To be allowed out to go to the event myself, since I used to attend on the saturdays. Think that age of student and number (and the fact they were going around in smaller groups of 3-4) meant there was a lower impact on vendors without relevance (I wouldnt imagine they would have engaged with the likes of backup solutions, for example) but gave those with a clear opportunity for student engagement (such as the 'esports' or practical equipment) to have a busy stand which actually increases my likelyhood of stopping and engaging myself.

We use integris, alongside novaT6 for time tabling, but don't use any features outside of attendance, student/staff information and census reporting. We were able to work closely with their Dev team, as a 'partner' to enable our own developed systems (now including behaviour management, life without levels, VLE/video content, student tracking/reporting). As we don't use many of the integris integrated functionality I couldn't comment on these, but their register system is easy (as part time cover staff too) and their work with us has meant we have been able to develop multiple systems over time. The support has been ok, sometime lacking on the rare occasion of unexpected down time, but that is some what to be expected. The school has been a customer for over 8 years (pre me).

Also in a secondary school. In a IT Tech role so not completely sure as to the ins and outs of the targets. But I think the overall plan is to have 4 levels within each 'Statement' /target with a 'marked complete' for each stage. so that if a student is making progress through their target this can be recorded at the right level. Subsequent assessments can 'upgrade' to a higher level (again, not exactly sure of the names of these levels) after more work. These statements are linked to different units, within courses, within departments. We're using this as a way of curriculum mapping too, so adding an outline of the units and some general resources to a 'Unit Overview' page.

We looked into a couple of companies, doddle being one of them, and found them all rather lacking for a secondary environment. The sales/presenters didn't seem to understand the differences (not just one teacher for most lessons, number of different classes that a member of staff teaches) as well as very limited reporting for a larger cohort. Doodle were planning to 'start development' around this time for their, more customised, secondary product. OTrack looked more promising, and their pricing seemed much lower (we were gobsmacked when they quoted), but were missing some things for us. We've decided to put a system in place ourselves.

We have just starting to move our school from Frog3 to Learn, it has literally just matched it for the pros/cons list with the 'rules' addition (like the if block) being the tipping point for us. We have different systems for home work and parental engagement, which were in place long before frog so these have been integrated into the frog layout, but are essentially separate items. For teachers it is much simpler to use, but you almost should not consider it in the same line as frog3, almost as a new product entirely. Once you get over the changed (and seemingly reduced) functionality as an Admin you can see the positive changes for the teaching staff as a whole. The widgets, such as the HTML block, are beginning to allow more flexibility with it too.

we have just started looking at frog again, with the possiblity of using the new system as a 'backend' so that the teacher can edit the content easily. The students would link to a totally public site with no login. The issue we have at the moment is that our frog is set to open with compatability mode (as we have had issues with frog 3 and IE10) but we now have problems when trying to use frogOS/Learn as this is also set to compatability mode (and shouldnt be). We are investigating using the theme to resolve this.

Have a look at their website, they are now promoting a 'new' vle called Frog Learn and Frog Play (formally FrogOS).

The first issue is that it is not a desk currently, it is a storage unit. It would not meet ergonomic requirements (can't sit with feet flat as there is the shelf, wrong height for arms, eyes, back) to sit at a computer (Health and Safety?!). If you want something more of a standing desk you could use one of these (without dimensions I'm guessing) Childrens Storage Solutions STUVA - IKEA Or you could use ALVE Laptop table - IKEA It depends on what the PC will be used for and how long. If it is a significant period of time or admin centered job i would look to relocate the desk/pc or the whole units. If you want to compromise on one (vital) aspect of H&S, and possibly cause one member of staff pain, to meet the requirements of not altering what is already there to meet the ergonomic requirements (more so) just because of the possibility of something happening to a slightly modified piece of static furniture.

Why dont you extend the desk. Add legs or raise it in some other way? But, from the photo you posted, I would also be tempted to add some support to the bottom of the 'desk' to spread the load over the bottom. Don't know what your situation is, guessing a primary school/classroom, but we would probably make this ourselves or ask the woodwork/design department to help.

I'm in the middle of a degree from Anglia Ruskin, that is all online with no day release. It is more about developing as a person, with regard to the work setting you are in so can be molded to most situations. In my cohort there is a peripatetic music teacher, a HLTA, a business analyst and me (IT Tech) we are all using the elements of technology around us to work through the 3 year course. I would say that i am funding myself, and finding my own time, although there seems to be enough as its set up for slightly older people than me, 22, who have family or other similar commitments. Its also important to get the web address change working correctly, there is a school i know that you cannot access when using 'nameschool.com' requiring you to enter 'www.nameschool.com' which kind of ruins all reasons for changing. And also confuses parents and students when trying to access from home.

Christchurch is worth a look (east along the coast) lots of pubs and cafes along with some different shops. Tower Park is also a good shout witch, tend to mainly go to the cinema there as it has 'rocky' chairs (that recline) as well as the normal restaurants. The Purbecks, Swanage and Corfe Castle are also nice, with a steam train between Swanage and corfe. (Highly recommend the pubs in corfe, generally where we eat on Duke of Edinburgh).

depending on the site (once the main infrasturture is sorted) i would look towards aerohive or meraki (now owned by cisco) as they are 'cloud managed' wireless solutions. Currently we have Aruba which has been brilliant, including flawlessly running our first set of iPads (32) in a mobile hut with a 3/4 year old AP-65. We have about 35 APs around the site (2 main buildings and 10 huts).
