Dinner in two sittings. Half the kids and half the staff have dinner with the other half of the staff serving. The remaining half of the kids are out playing. Second sitting the staff who ate then serve and the staff who served eat. Then all the kids go out to play while all the staff clear the dining hall and set up for the lunch time supervisors and kitchen staff to have their Christmas lunch. 1

One school has food delivered which is heated and served - they do a Christmas Dinner but we are never offered it, paid or not. Mind you, don't think I want it. The other school has the same company but they come in and cook it from scratch - it looks nicer but again we never see it.
Gibbo Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 We've had it running here. Nice turkey dinner but the dessert cake was cold - it had been chilled in the fridge - and the custard was lukewarm. Not a nice combination.

It costs £2 for children if they are paying and £3.40 for staff if paying. Lunchtimes supervisors are free but they have to work for it .

Iain.Faulkner Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 We had ours on the 4th December, in the main it was very good, turkey was excellent and the roast potatoes were nice and crunchy. My only issue was the carrots weren't cooked (they were warm, but didn't feel cooked). £2.10 for staff or students, decent sized plateful with a biscuit or mince pie dessert.

Will inevitably have a small glass of something and wander back to the office afterwards. Support staff lunch tomorrow as well, it never ends.
rich_tech Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 had ours today, was a lovely turkey dinner and cooked beautifully by our canteen staff, free to me because of lunchtime duties, feeling stuffed now though I have to say, feel like a nap more than anything and counting down the hours until I can have one
laserblazer Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 We had ours yesterday, SLT served it up and it was ok. Spuds and sprouts cooked to perfection. Not sure where the turkey came from but it was edible. It was free to all staff.
