I have a feeling all schools have to have clip on ties or elastic ones now - could be wrong but feel like I heard that somewhere. Something about health and safety. Very strange health and safety!

Something about health and safety. Very strange health and safety! Probably for the same reason that the Police wear clip on ties - very difficult to be throttled by them. I'm a bit sad that it's the last one this week... really enjoyed it, as I did Essex. The only TV programme that's ever given a realistic portrayal of life in a school. All the Daily Fail writers whinging that "should our schools be like this?" should try and spend a day teaching. The nature of schools has changed massively in the last decade alone - pastoral care is a much, much greater focus now than it was even when I was there (although maybe my school was just uncaring - it was a traditional grammar of the kind much adored by the Mail, as it happens).
CHR1S Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 They also have a very talented TA who has mastered the art of omnipresence and the quick change routine. I think I have seen her change outfit 3 times in one day and be in a lesson whilst also running the inclusion centre.

We had clip on then swapped back to tie-able due to demand and defacing of clip on and then gone back to clip on as many people cannot tie a tie You will never win that one really. As for the school, I think the youthfulness of the SLT is a big plus for them, Mr Mitchell clearly realises that somethings will have to be relaxed for that school due to its location and socioeconomic state IE the high number of FSM. The uniform clearly isn't 100% perfect you can see that in all episodes yet I haven't seen too many blazing arguements over it, a few comments but that is it when I think about where I have worked and uniform it shows how other priorities are higher such as getting grades. The style of teaching show by many in the program is also modern and in some ways how my maths teacher taught me GCSE maths well over 10 years ago and how ahead of his time he was and show that not ever child responds with "I'm gonna sue you" for telling them they will fail or to get off there lazy backside and get on with some work. Full marks to him and his team it is a good way of working and I am sure there is many bad times for them and students but with that group of staff it will work well for them

abillybob Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Educating Eastend was boring and carp compared to it's Yorkshire series... It'll inevitably go down hill and people like channel 5 will try to replicate it like they've done with "On Benefits & Proud" series trying to stir as much controversy as Benefits Street but that was a huge fail.... Good old Channel 5 stealing other networks ideas. Plus they really need to sort out their demand service it's a big heaping pile of brown stuffs.
