02 take 45 minute's to answer the phone

I've given up - it's my son's phone I was trying to sort out. He has only 6 months left on the contract so that wait will cost Orange another customer [ which was one of the reasons I left then 2 years ago ] - I could never get hold of anyone to talk to. Funny thing was they kept ringing me when my contract was up but I told them it was too late.

The only time i speak to them is to try and get back into my online account.

I have online account with no paper bill.

I never use it as I don't need to.

When I use it to check for upgrades I find my account is restricted.

I need my accoun tnumber from my bill to unrestrict it.

My bill is online.

My account is online and restricted...

Go Figure!!!

3G here has been poor since 4G, same everywhere..

Considering leaving after 12 years if I can't get a 4G free at upgrade.

3g quality has gone bad since 4g but only since 02 started with 4g.

it's been crap for nearly a year.

We get no voice/data in our office unless forcing to 2G ( i can do that but colleague can't) .. we just get voice by puttin up wall mounts for phones.

My m8 on Three ( use Orange infrastructure aparantly ) relied on 3G for home broadband and it went down the pan at 4G, so he had to switch.

I'm not the only one who has had concerns about mobile broadband lately. I am lucky to get a signal on Three and they don't have 2G fallback so it's all or nothing. Even with a signal on one bar, I can't do anything but light text-based stuff as pictures won't download and replying on Twitter or Tumblr ends in the connection dying and no clue if it went through or not.

The mobile broadband industry has fallen down the pan presumably to force an upgrade to 4G. :/

I gave up with Orange when the wouldn't send my phone for repair when it was within warranty (it was 2 days before the warranty expired). They argued that it would expire by the time it reached the repair people. Ended up getting the phone repaired myself, spoke with OfCom and got the repair costs, plus fuel and time used to arrange it all taken off my subsequent bills (something close to £400). As soon as the contract finished, I moved to O2. The only gripe with them is that they take a while to answer, but they're otherwise great for me.

I'm inclined to move recently started a with a new phone due to upgrade, been with Orange some 8 years now with "EE" and the amount of signal issues I am having is unreal. Getting through to EE is horrible, at least Orange was quick.

I think Three are really the best network right now. DC-HSDPA is nearly as fast as 4G, and most phones released in the last year support it. I'm on the verge of leaving Giffgaff as O2's network is too hit-and-miss where I live.

I've had nothing but semi-decent service from Orange. But when I got a Virgin contract, I didn't use the phone for most of a month and only to answer calls one time, and they claimed I'd run up over £100 worth of bills from calls. When we threatened legal action against them, they cut the "debt".

I'm not entirely sure whether or not that's good customer service or extremely crap overall service.

I don't have a problem with EE/Orange or Virgin,

Ive been with Orange for about 5 years and always got good service. They even ring me up offering freebies every so often, I got a call the other day offering to upgrade my data to 4GB for free.

Signal is sometimes patchy but as I tend to go out into the sticks quite a bit and this is only where it happens Ive got used to it.

ive had 17mb out of my nokia 925 on three only 20 times faster than my bt line lol. I find with 3 i either have a reall great signal or nothing at home its good upstairs but when i go down to the garage zero.

Does any telecom provider have a decent customer service rep they all seem to be *^&%ers

Also fed up of Orange / EE here, signal is naff i can watch my phone have 3G+ down to no signal whilst sitting on my desk in-front of me, took me 40 minutes to get it to not drop a call to Voicemail the other day, cannot access data most of the time its a joke. They told me its due to excess 2G masts in my area -_- well that's nice but doesn't help me. When I broke down on the edge of the M4 the other week it took 4 goes to call the RAC off my phone as it was dropping calls all the time so I had to resort to my work Blackberry on O2 which worked perfectly thank god for a Blackberry (Never imagined I'd be saying that!!)

Needless to say I will be getting very shouty at Orange / EE as I'm paying for a phone I cannot use and they cannot really say its a rural area issue as I'm in London! Yet it was just as bad in Rural Yorkshire where Orange / EE are the only firm with Signal :(

Virgin are fudging terrible! I've never had any major problems with my service, though. I'm with EE (formerly Orange, not T-Mobile, I don't know if their support is still separate?) and I'm always able to get a good service out of them. If there's a problem with my net I get through to them near-instantly (unless it's around 5-6pm, but realistically that's when everybody rings call centres) and the fact that they're open until 11pm is a nice bonus. Their call centre staff might not be quite as knowledgeable as us lot, but usually (besides that one instance....) they're good enough to be able to fire off the call to wherever it needs to go and get me sorted. Coincidentally, I was on the phone to them last night sorting out an upgrade to my contract and that went fine, too.

As for non-call-centre lark, signal is always three or four (full) bars for me apart from when I'm at work (but nobody gets signal here unless you're on the top floor, due to the building construction) and the internet is nice and snappy on the rare occasion I use it. My fibre at home can't be faulted for performance (although there have been a few 'blips', they're few and far between).. Oh, and they give me discounts :D

Overall I can't say I have much of a problem with them.

I am definitely inclined to agree about them being absolutely crap, unless your joining them new, like me and the wife were last year, then they could not do enough for you, 2x free iphones then and even throwing money at us in form of free months x2 each.

They were appalling in helping to close down all my sisters affairs after she passed away suddenly this year, repeated phone calls and letters to both EE and orange got absolutely nowhere in relation to closing her account down afterwards, even after I sent them all the details they needed straight after her death was registered, they even kept her account open purposely in my mind to see if they could get more cash out of her, as after I sent them the details, they still debited nearly £40 out of her account in the closing of that.

Forgot to add : I switched from O2 to these and my signal is nowhere near as good in the area I work in now, thats my only other beef with them since switching.

Well I had to ring orange tonight to cancel the sim on the wifes lost/stolen S3 Mini...

Took about 6 minuets to get answered and it was handled ok.

£3.5 for a replacement sim though :(

Hope the phone turns up as it's 18 months to the next free upgrade..

.....I think EE / Orange customer services is worse than Virgins....

Why do you hate to say it? It's true...

Orange customer service is a pain - they frequently just hang up on you. I've given up. Although here is a nifty trick - if you select whichever menu options relate to 'You're thinking of leaving us', you'll get through to someone REALLY fast and then tell them you came through to them because you're sick of the terrible service etc etc and want to leave - you'll get help pretty sharpish.

Every company will do this. It's called the 'Retention Department'.

I honestly haven't had any of the problems you're all griping about though and I've been with them four years now.
