Capita have emailed me some patches that need applying. I know I can use dbupgrade to do so once I have extracted them from zipped file etc. But if they were in solus I could schedule them for deployment after hours? But they are not in solus so how can I add them? Any help appreciated

Hi All We are running SOLUS 3 Agents (Version 3.4.64) on all our Citrix Servers. There appears to be a problem with the software where it causes the session to flash for about 20-30 seconds at launch. I'm presuming that its trying to check for an update. Has anyone else experienced this? Also is there a way to hide the SOLUS Agent? There isn't any need to have this on the Citrix Servers. Thanks Tom

When I click on 'Check for updates', it does not find any updates for the latest version for Solus which is why I suspect, it does not subsequently list the Summer 2017 update as well. Anyone know how I can fix this?

I work in a primary school and SIMS is used by some of the administrative staff but all of a sudden on one of the staff laptops, SIMS suddenly won't open. I get the Error Message 'incompatible database' after she tries to log in. After playing around with it for ages, I think what happened is when the old IT Tech used Solus to do the summer update for SIMS this laptop wasn't updated. So I think it just needs the update and it should all work but Solus now permenantly says 'the machine cannot be contacted' so I can't update it that way. Our servers running windows server 2008r2 and our laptops are all win 7 but I know very little about Networking so im not sure how I could say do a manual install of the sims update on one client or how to get the laptop to connect with the Solus deploy agent? Any one have any idea's how to fix? I can get any info you may need.. Miles

We have begun to field trial SOLUS 3 through LAs and schools that we know. I'd love to be able to involve a couple of schools from this community that have had difficulties with the current version of SOLUS. SOLUS 3 will be delivered in two phases. The first (in autumn 2009) aimed at automating deployment of SIMS on workstations, the second (in 2010) at deploying and managing the rollout of SIMS on servers and workstations. SOLUS 3 phase 1 is capable of placing an agent on workstations that install or upgrades SIMS. This agent will download and apply SIMS workstation upgrades in the background without involvement by the users , it will also enable auto deployment of any infrastructure needed for SIMS, in the case of phase 1 this will apply .net framework 3.5. There is a monitor that shows which machines have had agents applied successfully etc. If you are interested in taking part in testing SOLUS3 phase 1, please email [email protected].

Hi all. Getting a big problem with the Autumn 2010 release for SIMS. SOLUS downloads the update to about 40% across the progress bar, then stops dead. After about 2mins it throw up this error: " The file SIMSCentralServerSetup 1.580.11.0 to 1.582.19.0 Upgrade.EXE was not downloaded correctly. The web server gave the following error The operation has timed out. " I've tried three times. I never tick the box in SOLUS that says apply updates after downloading, but when I click on "Close" on the error box it says the download is complete. If I had ticked that box, I think my update would be in a half finished state. Badness. I have looked at the Setups folder, and compared it to the file list for the update. there are a lot of missing files, including the SIMSCentralServerSetup.exe

Hi all, I thought (maybe wrongly!) that I should install Solus3 to manage our updates as I've seen a working version and thought that it would save a lot of hassle on the SIMS updates. It has been installed and has deployed a handful of agents as a test which is fine. Capita have authorised the latest updates (in time for Census!) however when we click on "check for updates" it reports no updates found :-( Although our servers bypass our proxy (Bloxx) I can't help thinking that there is some kind of proxy interference. Is there a URL that solus3 talks to that we need to allow or would solus inform us if it could connect to the update server? Thanks for your help (hopefully!)

Morning just logged on to our sims server this morning with the intention of applying the vat patch's to to our FMS installation. Opened up solus and it won't let me login to FMS part of solus the boxes are grayed out and the tick box wont let me tick it, just below the user name and password boxes it says *No FMS Installations found on this system. It worked fine for the last upgrade, the only thing I might have done is delete the old SQL Anywhere folders. have I deleted some thing I shouldn't,t have ? can any one tell me where solus picks up the information on whats installed thanks Alex
