It’s hard to believe that BETT is only one day away. It only feels like yesterday that I was putting together our initial stand plan. With it being so close to the opening day, I wanted to take a moment of your time to tell you about what is going to be happening on our stand (F121) and on our sister companies stand (F116). Net-Ctrl, as I hope you all know now will have both Ruckus Wireless and Kaspersky Lab on our stand throughout the week to answer questions and provide information on their solutions. We will be providing free beer for all the attendees that have visited our stand throughout the day and returned with their beer token, available from one of our team, between 17.00-18.00 Wed-Fri. CNS, our sister company, are just around the corner on stand F116. They will have a range of physical security solutions including IP CCTV and door stations, video surveillance software, IP locks, door locks and much more. They will be giving away a PlayStation 4, IP-CCTV cameras and free security site surveys, so it is well worth paying them a visit. The Net-Ctrl stand is opposite Millgate, so hopefully we will have a great EduGeek crowd around our area

Hi Guys, new problem. We have Kaspersky security 8 across the school computers, however the antivirus has added ImperoClient and Impero Winlogon Application to the 'Untrusted' list. How can I move them to the Trusted list? Thanks

Net-Ctrl is in need of some EduGeek Testers to trial a new security solution suite from Kaspersky lab and in exchange for some feedback we will give you £25 worth of vouchers for a store of your choice. Net-Ctrl has recently added the Kaspersky Lab Endpoint Security Suite to our security solution portfolio. A single solution all under a ‘single pane of glass’ including a new market leading mobile device management, systems management, Encryption, endpoint security and more. What we would like is to have some of the EduGeek community take a 2 week trial of the solution that will cover 100 endpoints and provide feedback on how you found it; in exchange we will give you £25 worth of vouchers for a store of your choice. The feedback you give can be good or bad we would really appreciate your honest opinion, what we really want to see is how this solution fits into education, how it performs, how you rate it against the competition and is it something you could see being adopted at your School/College/University. Please click here for more details about Kaspersky and how to claim your £25 voucher, there is also a short registration form to fill in if you’re interested in participating. Once completed we will send you an email containing the trial and product key as well as some instructions to get you going. Any questions please ask on here or send a PM and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Please note you will need 100+ endpoints devices in your environment to be eligible for the trial.

I wanted to make those interested aware of the latest Kaspersky Lab promotion that could save you some money. As I’m sure you will know Kaspersky released their endpoint security platform some time ago and it covers a range of solutions that have all been developed from the same code base, and can be managed by a central platform. These include anti-malware, firewall, application management, patch management, data protection etc. They have recently announced a brand new offer, exclusively available for schools, colleges, universities and other official educational organisations that could save you some money. For a limited time only we’re able to offer a great discount off the standard education RRP when buying new licenses of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business or Kaspersky Security for Virtualisation. This offer is available on 1, 2 or 3 year license terms for 200+ users/nodes. If you have any questions, would like some more information, or if you would like to speak with someone about the solution or offer feel free to PM me and I will ensure it is dealt with. We’re also able to offer a 30 day free trial to anyone that is interested.

Hi Guys, First off, I have only been working as an apprentice technician in a school for about 3 weeks now. I have been tasked with updating the Kaspersky anti virus on 229 computers which need it. However I am having a problem. I have physically turned on all the machines which need updating, and then I will use Kaspersky to remotely update them all. The problem is, 95-100% of the time, Kaspersky is unable to communicate with the computers, and also I am unable to ping them. They are definately turned on and are all plugged in as they should be. They can even log on to the network. So then why can't the anti virus find them? Using windows 7 on all computers and windows 2008 R2 for the network. Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

Hi All, Good morning. First of all moderators, please feel free to move this question if I have not posted it in the correct location. We have deployed DeepFreeze Enterprise 6.61 to laptops, and we are using kaspersky av 6.0.x. Has anyone been successful in getting the AV updates to apply automatically without manual intervention? I have tried the whitepaper Deepfreeze put out however it does not address registry modifications, and other files that are updated in alternate locations outside of my redirection. I used junction to redirect the location where by default KAV stores its update files. With our desktops we issue a WOL task, and execute a maintenance batch file to push updates. With laptops that are wireless we can not WOL as they are not connected wireless when powered off. (They are stored in a mobile cart) Any suggestions or work arounds?
