Thanks for this...we are largely serverless, do we need a RADIUS server for this?
-
Hi all, Can I ask how you go about changing the WiFi password on your networks with lots of end user devices? We use InTune to manage most of our devices...do you push out the new WiFi credentials as a policy and then wait x amount of time for them to grab it and then change? Really don't want to be trudging around manually entering the info... Any best practice advice would be amazing. Thanks!

I run, read and try (very badly) to brew beer occasionally. (Not all at the same time).
-
We use Google Sites for this and make available for all users of our organisation (not public).

I haven't used it, but I'm pretty sure it can be used to migrate on site file shares to SharePoint.
-
Think you can migrate Dropbox to SharePoint using Mover.io

Same here...using AirServer for years and never had any issue. You could just put one Apple TV in said guys room to appease him? Hide it behind the board and he'd probably never know it was there (and given preferential treatment) anyway...

[iphone] iPhone XS “cannot connect to app store” - help!
EssentialRug replied to elsiegee40's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Sign out of iCloud/Media and Purchases and then try to open the App Store again? Hopefully if working then sign back in? (I'm just thinking of things that I would try if I was having the same issue) EDIT: Sorry, just saw you tried logging out of account already! -
What words do you (or someone you know) say incorrectly...?

Why do all of these things sound like spells from Harry Potter? -

One that gets me is when people refer to a chest of drawers as 'chester draws'. -
That reference is lost on me...I'm going to go sip a black coffee and come back to it, see if I understand
-
a) No, it doesn't b) I'm not against people enjoying whatever they desire, you do you! My beef is when said people make out that this is the only way that coffee should be drank, and this in turn makes them superior than someone who enjoys a latte or a flat white or other... Lactose intolerant people are welcome at my party!
-
This! All for the diversity! Also, I might be dividing opinion, but it doesn't make you extraordinarily cool or above others if you strictly drink black coffee... Yeah that's right...fight me

4 with Oat milk. However if someone is kind enough to make me one, I'll drink it whatever shade it is

You should be able to set the logon background and desktop background for Pro devices using the following CSP's: ./Vendor/MSFT/Personalization/LockScreenImageUrl ./Vendor/MSFT/Personalization/DesktopImageUrl Set as 'String' and then paste in the direct link to the image in the value box. From memory the picture must have a JPEG extension and I don't think it worked if it was JPG or anything else...

If we have a TA or HLTA in the class, they will take the register using their SIMS login. We don't give access to SIMS to supply staff.

Junior Librarian- Google Workspace Chrome issue
EssentialRug replied to EssentialRug's topic in Cloud Services
I don't suppose you managed to resolve this issue at all? We're still seeing the same loading screen... -
Hi all, Having an issue with Junior Librarian swirling around a progress wheel and not loading the website as picture below. Interestingly this works fine in Edge and a personal Chrome profile. This leads me to believe it's down to a setting in Google Workspace. I've gone through and enabled cookies/notifications/images/pop ups for the site but still not able to get this work. I don't suppose anyone else has had this issue and knows where I'm going wrong? Thanks!

Thanks for that. Clicking per user MFA in there just takes me back to the legacy page. The accounts in here are still listed as disabled but are being prompted to set up when logging in...

Hi all, Had an email from Microsoft this morning to migrate our MFA methods from legacy to the Authentication Methods in AAD. Have successfully done this, but it now appears that MFA is enabled for all accounts. We have some accounts that we don't wish to enable this for but I'm struggling to see where I can exclude these. Does anyone have any ideas? I've looked in AAD > Properties > Manage Security Defaults and this is off... Also, in the legacy MFA section we have some trusted IP's set up (I know this is debatable issue), and just wondering if these also need to be migrated elsewhere? Everything is currently working as expected but just don't want a sudden influx of users being asked for authentication on those IP ranges. Thanks in advance for your help!

You could look into Printix for your print solution?

BETT 2023 GIVEAWAY - What is your earliest gaming memory?

Wow! Had completely forgotten about this! -
BETT 2023 GIVEAWAY - What is your earliest gaming memory?
EssentialRug replied to VeryPC's topic in Our Advertisers
My first handheld games console that was all mine (and not sharing with my brothers!). Memories of playing that 4 in one game with tennis, football, a tetris like game and a racing game. I think it must've come bundled with the console -
We've been hosted with Scomis since before I took up my role...I'd say it works really well and we have no complaints other than it's still SIMS at the end of the day.

Just after a bit of advice...we are nearly at a point where we can think about decomissioning our on prem Windows Servers and are considering replacing the current HDD's in one of our Dell Poweredge T330 with SSD's. We'd primarily use this for firing up VM's, general testing and the like. First question is, what SSD's are generally recommended for servers (even though the machine won't be 'serving' so to speak), and secondly can we hot swap the drives (currently configured as RAID 5e) and what would be the process to do so? Or would it be worth waiting until we decomission and then rebuild from scratch? Thanks!
