@Synack - If you do point your mail.yourdomain.com to the external URL, when a SCO user hits a Internet CAS at AUS they will be proxied/redirected to SCO CAS server depending on how Exchange is configured as their mailbox will be on at SCO mailbox server. Malibox servers used CAS servers in thier own site. @Rabbie - Yes. If SCO has a server/site failure, then your DAG copies at AUS will privide mailbox/cas for your SCO users. What would be ideal is to either have intelligent email routing, if not, then you can use MX records (round robin), which point to your HNLB, which then point to your CAS array. This will then provide HA/FT at every level. Sukh

Hi Glad it worked. Sukh

Hi Rabbie If you want to implement a 2nd CAS at Australia (which you must if a mailbox server exists) then you have to decide if you want another internet facing CAS server or not. If yes, this will then need to be published on the Internet DNS. In this case, users can directly access the appropiate URL and access the same server in the same site as the user. If the AUS user uses the URL for Scotland then Exchange will redirect them to the Aus CAS server providing their mailbox is on a AUS Exch Server. This type of deployment is called Exchange redirection. If you want a single point of entry into the ORG then you can expose one server, say the one already in Scotland, which will then perform proxying. This is known as Exchange Proxying. On a seperate note for the mx records. This is different to CAS deployment. If you want mail to be delivered to the appropiate site, for example, if a external users sends an email to a user at Scotland then the route the mail should take should be to Scotland and not AUS, then you will need intelligent email routing or we you will have to have a seperate SMTP domain for each of the users. Depending on who hosts your MX records or importantly, where the MX records are pointed will determine if this is possible. For example, MSFT offer this as a service, and what basically happends is that your AD is sync'ed (particular attributes) which identify the users locations and then email is sent to the appropiate HUB/EDGE server. Hi Are you only seeing this issue with migrated users or with a new user set up on Exchange 2010 too? (Using Outlook 2003) Can you also confirm that this issue occurs as above (new user and migrated) using Outlook 2007? Sukh

Hi "However, once a user logs on, does their work and then logs off, the PC will not sleep after the alloted period of time" Under which GPO setting have you set this? Sukh -

Hi Can you access the DFS share from a PC using the DFS path and install? Sukh

Hi When you capture the image, I generally only use Windows tool where I can. Then you should create the unattend in WSIM using this image. Can you try to create a image and as you said, use this image to create the answer file and don't use the SkipRearm in the pass. Test and let me know how it goes. Sukh

Hi Are you use VL key for Windows 7? Have you tested the xml file again? Modify the xml file using WSIM. Are you still having the issue? Sukh

[sccm 2007] SCCM - Can it look after a part of a domain (as in one OU?)
sukh replied to garethEds's topic in O/S Deployment
Hi You can share the same SCCM deplyment and delegate management on the OU by creating Collections in SCCM. Sukh -
Hi OK, so you have disabled and tested and the issue still remains. You mentioned WU. Has this issue always been around or after deployment of patche(s)? Sukh

[sccm 2007] SCCM - Can it look after a part of a domain (as in one OU?)
sukh replied to garethEds's topic in O/S Deployment
Hi See links below. You will need to work with the LEA to achieve. How to Assign Rights for Objects to Users and Groups Sukh -
Hi WAIK/MDT can and is used with SCCM. SCCM supports Windows 7 too. With SCCM you have OSD for OS Deployment. WSUS Integrates with SCCM, WSUS will become Winodws Update Services under SCCM. Sukh

Hi I know you guys havd a script but wouldn't this achieve one of the points. Prevent users from adding files to the root of their Users Files folder. Remove user name from Start Menu Remove user's folders from the Start Menu Sukh

Hi If you have the same issue then I guess you can follow this thread too and provide us all with your details/setup. Sukh

Hi Ok. Do these logoff/shutdown scripts work fine with other Windows 7 machines? I assume, you have tried to disable these in the GPO (if set there) and tested? Sukh
-
Hi, Do you have any shutdown/logoff scripts? Do you have issues on any other Windows 7 machines? Are all the machines the same hardware? I assume you can reproduce the problem? Can you post/pm the verbose logging? Sukh

Hi It seems like that you need to use SCCM as Gatt suggested. This will allow you to create you independent hardware images/architecture images as well as deploy applications to machines without interruption to the user. There are major differences between WDS and SCCM. SCCM is more for the enterprise who want more than just deploying the OS to the desktops. If you;re looking for zero touch then this is a must. Creating hardware independent images, deploying applications etc... There are lots of posts within edugeek and sticks that you can read rather than a 400 page document which explains the technologies. I think the next step for you is to actually deploy SCCM and then maybe ask specific questions if you have issues or want to know "how to". Sukh

Hi Not sure what you want to do here? Can you explain further? Sukh

Hi FIrst of all Did you disable indexing on the DHCP database folder if applicable? If you still have error then I suggest you try to compact the Jet Databse. Open a Command Prompt and use Jetpack.exe command line utility to perform an offline compaction. jetpack database_name temporary_database_name These are example commands to compact the DHCP database: cd %systemroot%\system32\dhcp net stop dhcpserver jetpack dhcp.mdb tmp.mdb net start dhcpserver Sukh

Hi Before we go further can you try. You may experience power management-related symptoms on a computer that is running Windows Vista Sukh -
Hi Here you go, direct link to Comptia and the resources you need, i.e self study book, publishers, classroom training etc.. Training Materials Sukh

Hi To get you started, run dcdiag /test:netlogons on each of your DC's and check the event logs. See link below for reference. Check the status of the shared SYSVOL: Active Directory Sukh
-
Hi As zippo stated, if your DC's are not replicating the Netlogon share correctly then this can be the case. I would recommend that you check your Netlogon replication and confirm all is working as expected. Removing the old script mat resolve one issue but I would also be very concerned about Netlogon replication as this can cause other issue too. Sukh
