As Nathan said said, check your receive connectors. Use Get-ReceiveConnector -Server PUTYOURSERVERNAMEHERE Also check if there are restrictions for the intended recipient (Mail Flow Settings) found on the mailbox object in EMC. Not sure if you're using a EDGE server or not, check there too. If you can, get a copy of the NDR and post. Sukh

Exchange 2010 address book not work - urgent please
sukh replied to pritchardavid's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
can you run the ExBPA first and report any issues. If possible can you post/pm me the results (the xml file)? I assume you only have one site where exchange is deployed, then you dont need to worry about Hub sites. -

exchange 2007 enable a relay of mail from a specific local IP
sukh replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Enterprise Software
There are a few ways to do this. I would select Anonymous users under the permission groups and then run the command below to give the relay right Get-ReceiveConnector "Your Receive Connector Name" | Add-ADPermission -User "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" -ExtendedRights "ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient" -
exchange 2007 enable a relay of mail from a specific local IP
sukh replied to RabbieBurns's topic in Enterprise Software
Hi Rabbie From my experience and best practise, I would recommend you create a new receive connector for relaying. Then I would restrict this connector with specific IP's, I.e those servers you trust to relay. Sukh -

Shared Calendars - Permissions Not Working!
sukh replied to MyBrainHurts's topic in Enterprise Software
Hi Moving the permissions from the OU would not have any effect as staff are not members. Can you pick one staff user and check the mailbox rights permissions on the object? Can you also check any delegation rights on this one user for permissions? You can browse each others calendars for free/busy, but you mentioned that users can edit too? How are the users accessing another users calendar and editing calendar enteries? Sukh -
Exchange 2010 address book not work - urgent please
sukh replied to pritchardavid's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
@priritchardavid - I did post last night but didn't see here today. I know it's sorted but here is some information for your reference. Orgianal post not posted. Hi 1. Look at a staff user check their SMTP address 2. Look at a admin users and check their SMTP address 3. Look at a student user and check their SMTP address See if each of the users have a different local name, ie. what is the naming convention before the at (@) sign? firstname.surname? last name only for teachers etc..I assume you have 3 Email Address Policies so that different names are stamped for each type of user. 4. The filters which are set. Do they point to the right Exchange server and database since the move? 5. It appears that you have moved your Exchange users to a new database and these users (admin, teachers, users) were on seperate databases which had a custom address list applied to them, i.e all students on the students databasw would only see students when they composed a new mail and looked at the GAL. 6. What you are tryin to achive is also know as GAL segmenation which is really for tenent companies, Hosted solutions). Exchange 2010 SP2 will include this functionality. Until then, you will have to remove the default GAL, which appears to be the case as you you find anyone is the GAL? Confirm? If this is the case, then you have to create the address list for each set of users and set this for each audience. 7. Have a look at the commands below and their usage, they will help you achive what you need. New-GlobalAddressList Get-GlobalAddressList Remove-GlocalAddressList Set-GlobalAddressList New-AddressList Remove-AddressList Set-AddresssList Get-AddressList Update-GlobalAddressList Update-AddressList Using these commands you create a filter for each address list using attrivutes which identify studnets, teachers and admin staff. Not sure what how these users are organised or if you are using any attributes to identify these? -
Outlook2003 behind ISA2006 issue
sukh replied to harvester's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
So the issue is that the user gets prompted for credentials constantly or it's not working at all? -
Hi It really depends on what infrastructure your have in place and your budget. To make things easier, why not have a remote access solution which allows users to connect to your school network securely from anywhere where there a internet connection. You can further restrict access to only school issued laptops and they can work as if they are connected to the network. Sukh

Hi Let me know what the event logs say on the Exchange server? Can the users access the shared calendars as expected? Is the issue only with the management console, i.e when trying to connect or is there a Exchange issue? What do you mean by you can see the Exchange server from the workstatation? What actions are you performing? Are you using the console successfully from the workstation? Can you logon interactively on the Exchange server and launch the console? Have you checked the remote desktpo settings on the OS? What do you see in the events when you try to RDP to the server? Sukh
