  1. I think this is about their teams for edu product, not the free tier which will remain.
  2. Morning, Just looked at our config and quote. The provider is Voiceflex I believe for the teams direct routing service. I don't think we pay per user for the routing service. It's £16 per month for each SIPP trunk out. Including 2000 minutes per user, per month to UK 01/02/03 and 5 main mobile networks. The Microsoft licensing is £2.20 per user or shared phone. But we have some shared phones between department users, so the cost is again quite small.
  3. Lots of issues reported today with slowness on the ideas forum. Invest in overall performance | Bromcom Ideas Portal (bromcomcloud.com)
  4. We just migrated to using an outlook shared calendar for our school events. Not sure why the MIS needs that info really.
  5. That sounds pretty good. I've just been reading about it here Ricoh print Management Cloud Brochure
  6. Out of interest what is wrong with Universal Print still? I thought it sounds a good solution when it was announced.
  7. Fear of change was the biggest barrier for us, but most of it was just ignorance from staff (and myself at first). I'd advise anyone wanting to move to go get it demoed, but also test the system and give it to some staff to have a look at. We quickly worked out it was a far better system but also would help reduce complexity of our 3rd party ecosystem. Once SLT realized this and the savings it made they got on board and we haven't looked back. It needed certain people on board including myself as the network manager, but speaking to each one individually and getting them to the demos really helped. We're happily using Bromcom for 4 years now and would never go back to a "legacy" MIS.
  8. WSUS feels very old these days, we got rid and just set auto updates on all machines now. Seems to work well.
  9. Just setup conditional access. We've done it to lock down to the UK and a couple of other types of devices. Works very well.
  10. OK thats pretty awesome
  11. Anything put behind cloudflare should be HTTPS by default these days.
  12. I would advise taking the people at the top for a demo of different cloud MIS's. Its both cheaper and better product. Get finance involved, show them the cost savings of getting rid of all those 3rd party products that sync with sims. That's what we did, and the ball quickly starts rolling.
  13. Not had the problem ourself, but we do have to power cycle them every so often by holding the power button down for 10 seconds.
  14. Really glad they upgraded the MCAS user login page recently. Page load times have gone from 7 seconds to 2 seconds Its the page I use most so very happy about the improvement.
  15. Block the store here as well, its annoying but has to be done.
  16. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-Freeview-Netflix-control-Bluetooth/dp/B0C5D98PTB Not bad for a 65" QLED with Alexa
  17. Move to a new MIS if you can, sounds like an ideal opportunity. The modern cloud MIS's are far better than Sims and you won't regret it once done. If you have difficulty convincing certain stakeholders in school, just take them to another school who has done the move.
  18. Teams phones are great, we moved about a year ago and it costs hardly anything through a call provider. Most our users are just software with headsets now.
  19. Sounds like its going to run hot!
  20. Probably not, but our data manager had similar concerns and now we can't keep her away from Quick reports and Power Bi and the analysis it can do. Its all drag and drop stuff. What you find when you move away from Sims is that a lot of the old hacks that are done, simply aren't needed any more as the MIS does it automatically.
  21. iSams is the most popular I think for private schools. We had a demo and it seemed quite good. But they only had a few normal schools at the time.
  22. Tried myself, but all out of stock. Pre reservations only.
  23. Does anyone know if you can buy one immediately in the apple store? All the website says its available in a few months and not in stock for delivery.
  24. Yep going to grab the 15 Pro max as soon as its in stock. Upgrading from an iPhone XR which still works great after 5 years!
  25. We use Equipment booking in our Bromcom MIS for this. Works quite well.
