You could try reverting back to an earlier version instead of a later version, also are you 100% sure it's the Intel Driver crashing it?

Antimalware Service Executable
ShellfishClive replied to Shadow_Walker's topic in Windows Server 2012
It may not be the anti-malware service that is causing the issue if you are having trouble restarting the server as well. Checl the temps which I am assuming are fine, it could be a faulty disk if it's hanging in general. If it ever boots, run some HDD diagnostics and see if you have issues. -

Restart the server at a quiet time, I'd also check to see if it's updated to the latest. -
If you have Office 365 setup you could configure single sign-on to the system and then have a shortcut to the Office365 website, this would be a lot cleaner for you to setup. Here's an article that will explain it better: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/canitpro/2015/09/11/step-by-step-setting-up-ad-fs-and-enabling-single-sign-on-to-office-365/

If you are deploying SIMS from a central server via Souls there is tick box next to the SIMS one to install Discover, it's labelled SD.

Fall Creators Update 1709 - Edge Opens and then closes
ShellfishClive replied to Qas's topic in Windows 10
I've had the opposite, where Edge opens on logon, we found it was an issue relating to our filtering system blocking a Microsoft URL. I know it's a long shot but check that? -
File Explorer Crashing for Members of Security Group
ShellfishClive replied to Bankesy's topic in Windows 10
It "could" be the space, try removing it and see what happens. UNC paths sometimes don't like spaces. -
I've used https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/st/refurbished-laptops before (not for work for personal) and they have been pretty good, would recommend them.

Check if the mapped drive policy isn't conflicting with any other drives that are already mapped, make sure you're not using the same letter twice. -
You can do this by writing.bat files to stop and start the service. Something like "net stop " then another to run straight after it "net start ".

Sending Exam Audio to board.
ShellfishClive replied to rob_coles's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
We've had a contract stating that it would be there responibility if they handled the postage? I'm guessing it's just for that particular exam board, my mistake. -
Never purchased from them but the guys on here that are apart of there team are nice folks. I'd buy from them.

Get them to send the CD or USB and the postage back, that's what we do with our exams. It's then there responibility. -

Disable screen orientation on Windows 7 PC's
ShellfishClive replied to dloudon96's topic in Windows 7
No it doesn't you can just write it as normal.# (Going to a meeting will be back soon, hopefully it works) -
The portable mode feature is the best thing on that this, it will make it so much easier. I'll make a template when I get time and if anyone wants it let me know.

Try changing this DWORD to the following value: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intel\Display\igfxcui\HotKeys] "Enable"=dword:00000000 -
[android tablet] Chrome OS Tablets
ShellfishClive replied to VeryPC_Colin_M's topic in ChromeOS & Cloud Based OS
I do think products like this have potential to do amazing things in schools, and from an IT point of view they are so easy to setup and run. I just feel like there isn't a finalized product out there yet that can make this fully viable. You can use these for certain subject or even a subject of a subject but there isn't anything there to keep them as a full time device, the novelty wears off pretty quick I think they are a great idea though, they just need a bit more work. -
What issues are you specifically having with this update?

It's all personal peference in the end I would choose PS4 over Xbox anyday though, far better games and people online seem to be alot nicer on PS4 compared to Xbox.

I've seen all the Purge movies and this one trailer wise looks like it's the best one for me, pretty excitied for this!

Students plugging in phones and disabling USB for all staff
ShellfishClive replied to tj2419's topic in How do you do....it?
Memory cards and USBs fall under the same boat really, you can restrict both but if you are going to unblock memory cards for a specific group you might as well keep USB sticks unblocked too. -
We generally install X amount of software and create a checkpoint then rinse and repeat until all the software is installed. We then revert back to the checkpoint with no software on it if we need to make a build with the same image. I did read an article about checkpoints and why they are bad but honestly I have never had a problem with them.
