I think it's to do with the pressure he's applying to the ruler. If it was set up with a load of cogs instead of friction and a rack or teeth instead of a ruler it would work as it is "expected" to. But it's getting on a bit and I'm shattered, so what do I know.

@Anup509 If you check on the client there should be a xibo options dialogue. You can change the content check refresh rate (seconds). I've got mine set at 300 for a reasonably rapid refresh.

Ah, but you have to submit with details about the image licencing and seeing as it was mostly culled from various corners of the internet and assembled by me I haven't a clue. So for now it's staying just here.

I can't find anything in the code to remove the status bar, so I don't think that's possible. If you're desperate for news with no status bar it can be done on the sky news version. As for getting rid of the blue bits, my only suggestion is to play with the height and width constraints in the HTML code to make it fill your area. default is 512 by 288, although making it bigger will probably not increase the size of the video.

Right, seems a little confusing. I would suggest you go back and check your xibo design page. Have you got the webpage entered into xibo correctly? Should look like the attached images.

What error messages are you getting on screen? It didn't work for me first time until I updated flash player.

Yes, 1) Take the code from AlexB's post (#15) in this thread 2) Paste into notepad 3) Save as bbc.html 4) Upload to your webserver via ftp (usually to a user's homedir) 5) SSH to your webserver and copy the bbc.html file to the website folder (/var/www/ under ubuntu) 6) Not tested without this step but.. chmod the bbc.html file to 755 7) Log into xibo and go to the edit page for your layout 8) Choose the area you want and enter the webpage link as http://$yourwebserver/bbc.html 9) Enjoy If you're having an "argh this still doesn't work" moment 1) Verify you can view the http://$yourwebserver/bbc.html page independantly of xibo by using IE or $browser on the client PC. 2) If you can't check the webserver is excluded from the proxy settings (although if it's not xibo shouldn't work) HTH

I'd agree with the other posters who have recommended using the linux backend. I'm running Ubuntu server and it hasn't missed a beat. Dead easy to install too, the guide on their site is pretty much all there. Will your old server support 2K8 with any degree of reliability? Got licensing for it? Me too mate, I'm two exams shy of my MCSA, guess I'm going to have to shell out for them myself. Little chance of getting anything from insolvency. PITA. Feel sorry for all those who have only just signed up and got absolutely nothing for their cash.

Common sense would dictate the school is liable (whether or not the school persues the Supply Teacher is a different matter). Even though the kid shouldn't have had the DS in school the teacher assumed responsibility when they confiscated it. If it had just been in the kids bag/possession and gone missing then tough, by all means search the other students etc but it's not a school issue. If it's only occasionally stuff gets confiscated maybe a central holding area (safe at front of school) and a receipt/ticket system could work?
