In ubuntu there is a lockdown editor that can be added on. Not sure how well that will work though. Aside from that, can you not just create a new user with a very tied down account?

Yes mostly, because it makes life easiers when coming to things like software installs and AV core updates. Most recently the AVG 7.5 - 8.5 update all I did was publish a guide and the staff got on with it. Any taking the mick will have access levels revoked, but no problems so far.

But what about visitors and tourists? Surely they can't make an ID card necessary for parking / swimming. OK maybe for dumping stuff they can but unless they're planning to wreck whatever travel and tourism exists then I doubt it will be a must have card. Or am I missing something. On a similar note my local council (Colchester) has started printing your reg on your carpark tickets. Completely unannounced and raises some worrying security issues. Wow am I a happy bunny, just got the server installed on an existing websever and going to config a client now. Hopefully it's just as painless, brilliant stuff! Edit : client sorted, working quite happily with demo content. I think xibo is my new favourite bit of software, just got to figure out streaming tv etc and I'll be happy

As above, I was asked to complete the assessments for our lot. I photocopied the form and handed copies to users who warranted it. Then it gets nailed up somewhere obvious near the assessed area so and visiting H&S bod can check it. They may need your guidance on certain items, or ask for your help to make their areas meet the requirements, but that should be the limit of your involvement. Oh, and I had the forms for nearly 6months, but didn't do them until my new wheely chair turned up :cool:
