I have done that. They have a case running. Helpful I suspect that I have now actually downloaded and installed the flipping certificate. Our network is a bit odd anyhow sometimes proxies don't get picked up already. I doubt this is going to make life any easier for me!

We have a NEC NP01WK projector that's just started to behave oddly. The right hand two thirds of the display is fuzzy / wobble. Left hand third is stable. There's text on the board currently and the words have a sort of vertical trawling finish to them. Bit like looking at something through really heavy rain.

Umh - after a timely prompt from RM been trying to sort this one today. Not so far successful. Our main DC is Server 2008 Standard 32 bit (As the flipping tin won't install IE11 and IE11 has deployed to clients that's an issue) and it seems that this option isn't available for that. We also have a second DC that's Server 2008 R2 64 bit so it's that one I tried to install the certificate through. The VBS ran ok but when it comes to search for the actual certificate it's not visible?

Seems totally crazy to me. Why would anyone mess with such a crucial organ, the risk of damage has got to be immense and how on earth after it would anyone be able to give an effective diagnosis of - bloodshot eyes! Seriously the eye is really a window on health and so much can be diagnosed from a healthy or unhealthy eye. Utter madness.

Not so sure we do. There's a load of empty dwellings in many parts of the country and then there's the obscenity of people having second and more homes. In Cornwall and the Welsh Tourist areas for example the local youngsters can't afford to buy homes in their own villages and towns because wealthy folk have priced them out of the market.

Yikes, not much of a belt is it. I'm in Wiltshire and we don't seem to have any at all - which was what I always suspected with the way the Local Authority allows practically unfetterd building on green fields.

Thanks @3s-gtech just the sort of advice I am looking for. More advice very welcome. I'd like to get this planned so that I don't have to give up my summer holiday to chasing my tail because of poor planning - not that I'm contracted to work holiday time anyhow!

We are a KS3 / 4 Special School with 70 students who have emotional and behavioural issues. We currently have circa 150 Windows 7 Clients (some home use by staff), mainly desktop units because the lads tend to have temper issues with laptops, 25 iPads and a dozen iPods. All this served by a 6 year old DC (Server 2008 Standard 32 bit with 400 GB LTO backup. This functions as DHCP and several other roles including fileserver. A second 3 year old DC that has 64 bit Server 2008 that functions as the MIS Server (Backs up to 500 GB removable HD) plus some print roles. A third server, R2 64 bit 2008 OS new almost exclusively used as a Terminal Server. Client machines are clean installed 64 bit Windows 7 without the use of an image nor predefined profiles. The original DC was migrated with a domain from a very creaky Server 2003. That happening a heap of rubbish also came across. Some have since been cleaned up but there is still a fair amount to declutter. We have a GB backbone now and a decent floor to ceiling cabinet in an Air Conditioned server room. Infrastructure is in place for VOIP and CCTV systems. Come the summer the original DC will be replaced and I‘m seeking advice on what to replace it with. I guess the best option being a rack mounted server running Server 2012 taking over the DC and it’s roles with a clean new domain making the best opportunity of image deployment, virtual etc. I’d also need some Server 2012 training I reckon! Advice and indeed quotes toward getting this right would be very welcome.

We have several HP Laserjet 3600 printers in the school that are now at least 5 years old. Several have failed - mainly with print drawer issues. I'm currently shopping for replacements. Our usual supplier suggested a HP Laserjet Pro 400 M451nw Colour Laser Printer which they currently offer a free 3 year warranty on. This comes in at about £190. The replacement cartridges are the best part of £300 for the set though. Any other recommendations please?

I know of a couple of chaps both who I'd heighly recommend. One is a CAPITA server installer who I believe exclusively covers the education sector - fabulous bloke and nothing is too much trouble for him but he has to be booked through CAPITA sales therefore you have that bureaucracy and price to work with. The other is a youngish fellow who used to be a school tech but for about 3 years now has been running his own company. He actually specialises in installing networks for stately houses much of the time now but has come out and done a couple of top notch jobs for me, he recommended the spec of the kit, I sourced it he installed it. Great to work with and his prices are reasonable as well. PM me if you want to be put in touch with either.

Sad to see City Link go into Administration City Link parcel delivery company goes into administration - BBC News particularly over the festive season. I've always found their drivers give a first class service. My guess is the folks on the road have been let down by their management. I wonder if there's any chance someone such as UPS might buy the operation off the Administrators and at least preserve the workers jobs and existing customer network?
