Looks like you are not alone, as mattx points out: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/bad-experiences/23788-scan-co-uk-dont-order.html

Which school was that? There was a school on the Stratford road not far out of town which took a hit very badly... was closed for quite a bit afterwards while they did major repairs to the roof.

2005 wasn't it? I remember this... I couldn't get home from work. I got off the bus early because a normal half an hour journey had already taken over two hours, I knew it'd be quicker to walk. I got to a junction where the police stopped me from passing. I asked how I was going to get home because all of my options were blocked off by them and they said "I really have no idea". I went back to work for a couple of hours, by which time it had cleared off the roads a bit.

Incidently you get a 30 day free trial. Useful if you only need to do a couple of one off things using it. I used to find I only needed to use dreamweaver for a couple of hours once every so often, so just downloaded a trial version of it on whichever computer I happened to be using at the time.

Try on a computer which asn't visited the website before. I've had awful problems with browsers caching the favicon for long periods of time and clearing the cache doesn't seem to help.

No, the guru can only speak once ever.

I could not work this one out... see if any of you can. The answer can be found using google if you can't work it out and get curious.

Yes, the office setup for what is apparently going to be used by just one man most of the time* requires a least 8 rack mounted servers and multiple large cisco switches *this is just an assumption

Good luck! Must have been a hard decision to give up your job and I'm sure your colleagues at the LEA will miss you. But this site is an amazing resource, one of the first places I turn to for help and have solved many problems simply by clicking "search". I look forward to seeing how much bigger it can grow and how much of an influence it can have on IT in education

I like 24 if I'm in the right mood for it. Also watch bones, NCIS, numbers, prison break and the mentalist

No, big brother is without a doubt supposed to be at the top though I admit the others are still pretty bad.

Filtering, how do you determine what gets blocked?

That's edugeek out then lol. -
I gathered, however the comment below that: implies she was doing something wrong by it. I guess just the medias way of stirring trouble.

I assume they didn't mean that literally.

When I was in secondary school we had "computer prefects", a title which I unfortunately managed to obtain (along with all the hate which comes with it). It was fairly common knowledge that the "computer prefects" had knowledge of the RM admin2 password (which was still "changeme" incidently) though as far as i know, our "network manager" (the head of ICT) never got wind that we knew it, even though all the students seemed to know. We told everyone we were going to do *insert nasty thing to do on administrator account here* on the last day as well, but we wouldn't really have done it, I'm not that mean/stupid lol. It kept them all in suspense though.

I googled part of the message in your last screenshot. The first link in google provided a link to the MS support site -
Locked Computer showing as locked but with no username?

Administrator unable to unlock a "locked" computer ? -
Virgin are not that bad IMO. I'm changing as soon as my contract runs out because of the upload speeds, and I can't stand their customer service, but their uptime in my area is brilliant (not had a single problem in that area) and I have a mesh VPN network set up with my house and a couple of other buildings which transfer a lot of data between them (basically syncing certain drives) to the extent I'm considering the best way to load balance it and there hasn't been any problems with doing this - no noticable throttling.

That would be me. I find I tend to give most people the benefit of the doubt even when I really shouldn't, hence why I wouldn't want to do it as it'd cause arguments.

Also, is there any software that will do the same thing in batch?

Lol, I walked past the stand a few times but didn't actually get chance to talk to anybody - that was my own doing though in my case, not the people manning the stand.

I really cannot say there is anything I dislike doing, but if I had to choose I'd say trying to trace patch leads around an office and all included furniture to find out which network point they plug into. Can be extremely frustrating depending on the layout of the office
