Hi @agtwalker, are you planning on staying with the older style Interactive Whiteboards or would you look at Interactive Flat Panels? Panels have higher resolutions (4K), are brighter and cope with reflection and high ambient light environments. We have 3 ranges, RE04A, RE04, RP04; which vary in price and specification. Hi @bertster, can you please confirm the model, is it actually RE6504A (sticker on side of the panel will confirm). Good news and bad news I'm afraid. Good news I have the firmware, bad news, due to a delay in Google certification the freeze function has had to be delayed until December. I have a service firmware that does include the freeze fix, however the downsides of using this are that it is a manual update (cannot use DMS), it is a system wipe so all config has to be done again and if you were to update to the current firmware via OTA then it would remove the freeze fix. The other option is to keep using the workaround of the front HDMI port. Apologies for the delayed resolution for this issue. If you have any questions just drop me a DM.

Hi @sarge I've been advised firmware should be available on the OTA server mid November. I may get later this week, the version I receive only supports USB update (not via DMS). Hi @sarge due to a bug, the release has been pushed until November (no exact date yet). Current workaround is to either use front HDMI port or contact the GPU manufacturer to see if they are able to disable HDCP on the GPU (for non HDCP content). Thanks, Chris. Hi @timbo343 to my knowledge there are no specific safety requirements, however using a conventional TV in this environment in my experience will break easily and may not be covered under warranty. You may be better off acquiring an entry level interactive screen and disabling touch. This gives you all the benefits of an education warranty (5 years upon registration from BenQ) and toughened tempered glass. You would also benefit from subscription free device management and casting tech (if that is something of interest to you). I would take a look at the BenQ RE7504A. Hi @sarge I'm aware f a slight delay in release of the firmware, I'm anticipating release by 10/10. One thing that may help is in the settings menu, going to the Display tab, scrolling down to advanced and switching the EDID mode from 2.0 to 1.4 or vice versa. @sarge I'm aware of the issue in question and we are working on a permanent solution. The core reason why this is happening, is that we have discovered that some laptops are outputting a HDCP enforcement signal regardless as to what is on the laptop screen. We've encountered this on several Dell laptops, depending on the model there may be a setting in the GPU to disable this. The side ports are HDMI certified and as such when they receive a HDCP enforcement signal they have to block the signal (this is part of the HDMI certification process). The front ports do not operate the same way, they have a HDMI port, however this is not HDMI certified as it uses DP as the functionality and DP does not have the same conditions for HDCP. Even though this is a problem created by the laptop GPU, we are working to solve it. In order to comply with HDMI certification we are reworking the freeze functionality, there will be an update released, currently scheduled for later this month, once released it will be downloadable on the screens via an update. Hi all, at BenQ we include fixed wall mounts with each of our interactive screens. But we recognise that a fixed wall install is not always appropriate for various reasons. We will always use industry standard VESA mounting spacing on the panels and are fully compatible with all major brands of height adjustable mounts (mobile or wall mounted systems). Some things to look out for are anti-collision and anti-crush sensors. Even if you do anchor the height adjustable mount securely you don't want them causing an injury. Hi @HazQuarts happy to advise on the BenQ side, we have a fleet of demo units, subscription free whiteboard software (EZWrite 6) which will open .iwb & .notebook files. Two main ranges; RE04 value led proposition, Google EDLA (Play Store), subscription free cloud services (including SSO accounts) and RP04 everything you get on the RE04 and NFC card sign on, integrated soundbar and mic, germ resistant glass and pens, integrated Wi-Fi and with the latest chipset; runs Android 15. All available in 65", 75" and 86". We also have the RE7504A, still featuring Google EDLA, subscription free whiteboard software and cloud device management but is more value driven. Available in 75". All our screens include, upon registering, a 5 year de/re-install warranty and also fixed wall bracket as standard. Additionally all of our software is our own and developed in house, as opposed to using 3rd party software; meaning we continually develop it at no extra cost and can be very agile in terms of development and support. I don't know enough of the detail on Hikvision, but I did see that yesterday that Canada has directed Hikvision to stop local operations citing national security concerns. @Alis_Klar I can only talk about the BenQ side, but the interactive panels now have casting built in, so it gives users the option to interact at the screen and interact from their device. On the latest boards we also support P2P Miracast with touch. The BenQ screens also come with a 5 year warranty (upon registration), we have 3 ranges (scaling up in spec, performance and price) RE7504A, RE04 & RP04. @chazzy2501 if you let me know the exact model or serial number I'll let you know what you can do. Don't think we ever had an 83" interactive screen. From memory we have only ever had: 55", 65", 70", 75", 84", 86" and 98". In the current ranges we offer 65", 75" and 86" with a 98" available in the RE series. The Wi-Fi dongle was included as standard on RP03 and RP04, all previous models were optional. Depending on the model there may be a sticker on the right hand side with model and serial number, if you let me know the current firmware version of the panel too I can send you latest firmware to install via USB. If you drop it in a DM with your email I'll get back to you, latest tomorrow. The clock indeed has an internet time sync function. USB-C is not without its own issues, we provide a 1.5m cable in the box, most cable manufacturers don't go longer than 3m, think Lindy do longer. But longer USB-C cables get expensive very quickly. Hi @chazzy2501 - I've asked the question if there is anything we can do on the 1080p front. I think it is also possible, via group policy to set default resolutions of Windows devices. As for built in Wi-Fi, they are all dongles; however the RP series the dongle is pre-installed in a hidden USB compartment and on the RE series the dongle is optional, but you also have the hidden USB compartment. It isn't built in as some sites for security cannot have wireless devices on site. Our latest panels (and some older ones too) using InstaShare 2 you can natively cast to the screen P2P with Miracast and it supports touchback. You have to run the host app on the screen (but you can enable this to start automatically on boot using our free cloud Device Management Solution (DMS). But from a user perspective it works just like using the Microsoft dongle, except you get touchback option. Thanks, Chris Senior Technical Manager BenQ UK & Ireland

@Colt_phil does the display device have an EDID mode switch? Going from EDID 2.0 to EDID 1.4 will drop the maximum resolution to 4K30 and in doing so reduces the bandwidth which will get you a longer cable run. @Sheridan if no display is being shown it could also be an EDID issue (1.4 v 2.0). Most panels use HDMI 2.0 which supports EDID 2.0 (max 4K60), however some laptops have a GPU that can do 4K60, but the physical HDMI port is 1.4, which caps at 4K30. It wasn't an issue until all panels moved to 4K with HDMI 2.0. Some panels have a software switch to go from Auto, 1.4 and 2.0. But not all do. We had this issue on our RM03 screens and were able to create a software fix. Other workarounds are, use VGA, use an EDID emulator or set laptop resolution to 30Hz. Thanks, Chris.

@Sheridan as a workaround you could place a HDCP splitter between source and screen. These will often bypass HDCP. There are a few listed on Amazon. Thanks, Chris.
