Plex is like a Netflix product with empty library's you fill your self. It would work perfectly but i do not know what you do about the whole media shifting and copyright. If you apply for copyright on each film you could legally put each one you need on Plex.

Say No to Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) Why are Microsoft not addressing the reasons why people are choosing to deploy the LTSB? We are trying to get Windows 10 in a multi user lab environment to be quick to logon. If we use Windows 10 Education or Enterprise it takes over 2 minutes from login screen to desktop. Windows 10 LTSB 2016 takes 20 seconds. 2 Minutes is not acceptable. We had Windows 7 down to 15 seconds, and Windows XP to around 5 seconds. The Mac's in our labs take under 5 seconds

Me and my mates use WINE to play the steam version of AOE2 on our Macbooks, works great. Also use it for Dance eJay 2005 on the music iMac's , runs better than it did when we had Windows workstations, use to do nothing but crash when on Windows, hardly ever when on WINE.

Depends what price you are getting them at. They should actually get faster under iOS 12 when released as Apple are focusing on performance and giving the older devices some love. Considering you can get the latest iPad with education pricing (without VAT) for under £250 each i would have to be paying not much over the £100 mark for these iPad Airs for it to be worth it.

Anybody any idea how you create a group on the Light Speed mobile manager since they made the GUI worse? I can see smart groups but i want a normal group. Their documentation on this is dire.

SSL inspection normally puts a heavy load on the CPU, more connections more load.... Can you see the CPU usage of the Rocket?

When we moved from LEA broadband 8 years ago i struggled to find somebody who would take a .sch.uk , so just transfered it to Nominet, pointed domain to our onsite BIND servers running on Linux and just host the domain on site.

I believe the PSVR is doing well, i still use mine.

Thats one of the reasons i love it, so many OS's and Apps are just so bad looks wise now with things hidden, too much white space, flat design. I feel the XP era was when the interfaces were good. Nothing is hidden and the icons make sense, and everything is clear. I still do not have the new dashboard turned on in iSAMS as the old one looks better, only advantage the new one has is you can add widgets.

We moved to iSAMS last year from SIMS, everyone is happy with the move, and teachers much prefer iSAMS. Only area we feel SIMS was better is in the cover module. So i can recommend it, if you contact them they will get somebody onsite to show it off and you can then fire lots of questions at them.

I want to try and get SSO/Pass through authentication working , i have the latest Azure AD Connect installed, and on the Azure portal its showing as enable (see screenshot) Am i right i should be able to just now from a Windows 7 domain joined, domain user logged on person goto http://www.outlook.com/mydomainname and it should just load the Outlook Web App as me? I get the trying to login for a second then it goes to the Sign In page. Just want to be sure my expectations are correct before i continue.

Make the new folders on the new drive. (Desktop, Documents etc) You can copy your existing stuff in if you want. Not sure, it has an Internal Exam manager but we do not use it. Did it have that module when you last looked?

iSAMS because its fully web browser based. But not bluesky thinking for us we switched from SIMS to iSAMS last year. Teachers are happier, reports/profiles are easier, Exam Manager cannot believe how much better it is, our weird timetable swap over was half the work in iSAMS, and i have to do less 'updates' so i am happier. Only thing we have found we prefer in SIMS is Cover but hopefully that will get improved.

Same been with Zen for years after getting annoyed with our LEA's broadband. Fortigate + Zen leased line has been flawless. They are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for..... and we put reliability and support over price.

When we bought the SIMS Learning Gateway about 10 years ago we had to go direct with Capita for support for that product, and our LEA for SIMS. The direct Capita support was dire, infuriating, and i wanted to smash things up. Sounds like it is still as bad. Just another 4 schools in our MAT to move off SIMS this year and i can say good bye to Capita

MacOS has basic anti malware built in called X Protect. Its signature based, so no heuristics, but do not think your Mac has no protection because you have not installed any AV.

I do not think we will need to buy it in the future. Caching Server now comes built into MacOS instead of via the Server App , whats left i guess will follow.

The question is does this mean Profile Manager will become a usable product for large scale deployment if they are going to focus on device management? As Apple have said in the past its for testing, proof of concept or extremely small deployments only.

Our Bursar bought School Asset Manager / PS Assets few years back we moved all IT stuff from spreadsheet to it. I've said this year cancel it and i will put everything back to spreadsheet as its just much easier and quicker. The in use low, medium or high thing annoyed me and was too much hassle to change it all once we had been using it.

I had been playing with having 1 main site with links to each subsite, but i don't want to set it as a homepage as it requires login, and i don't think you can change the sharepoint button to point to a different URL, and you cannot force tiles on the office 365 home screen , users have to manually add them. Office 365 is one of those most frustrating products i have ever used.

Looking into migrating our shared areas onto Office 365 , but i just don't get / understand Sharepoint in the Office 365 environment. We have had Sharepoint as just our intranet for years onsite, never for shared areas. I create sites and can get content on but i am trying to see it from the end users point of view and the experience is not a pleasant one. For example, when i login to Office 365 via a browser and click the Sharepoint button i would expect my users to see a list of all the sites, but they don't, and when i login i don't, i just get frequent sites, recent sites and featured links. Its just a mess. Is there anyway to improve what the users see's once the press that sharepoint button? I ideally want list of all sites with one for each subject. Also when i use the OneDrive app on iOS and click the sites button i don't see a list of sites available i just see frequent and following, not really a great user experience. Am i doing something wrong or is it just that badly designed?
