If you set the template back to the default will it print then? If so it indicates that there is something in your template causing the issue. You can then make a copy of your original template and remove sections (I'd suggest a binary search) until you identify what is causing the issue. Once identified which section copy it to a new template and play with it there until it works (or re-create it)

There is no bulk routine in SIMS to do this but there are 3rd party products which will process electronic files and attach them to student records' linked documents. One I'm aware of is DMSA and I' sure there will be others out there.

A lot of the workstation access is to collect logs from Capita products or to look at MS Office issues, usually requiring clearing temp files and the like. We've also connected MMC from the server to workstations to look at running services for SOLUS and firewall configurations, sometimes to look at SIMS.ini and connect.ini files or give specific users the SIMS Multinstance shortcut in their start menu on their workstation. There are other things we connect to workstations for on a fairly regular basis but that gives you a flavor of what support we do with the access.

I work for a local authority SIMS support unit and most schools choose to give us a full domain admin account as it is easier for them. Generally what we need is a user that is local admin on the SIMS server(s) {If the functions are split over multiple machines} and another service account to use for SOLUS3 which is a local admin on all workstations needing SIMS/FMS/Discover {though they could be the same account but this account doesn't need login privelages}. The advantage of having a domain admin account is when analysing problems with SIMS/SOLUS/etc. there is generally a lot more that can be done without disrupting users and support staff in school, whereas just a local admin account on the SIMS server would mean we need local IT support to continually grant us access {by whatever means} to workstations with issues that need resolving.

Assuming your are using SIMS then the Assessment Manager Individual Reports have the option to upload to the DMS when you merge them.

You don't need to uninstall the client, when you set up the definitions in SOLUS it will see that there is already one installed when you try to upgrade it and see its the correct versions.

You need to download and deploy the Discover Spring 7.180 upgrade (even though you installed the 7.180 version) through SOLUS3 before it can push out workstations.

The timetable needs applying to the SIMS database to the correct days through "Tools | Academic Management | Apply Timetable", your timetableler would usually do this when sending the timetable back if they have made changes tot he structure

If you are using a backup of the current SIMS database I would highly recommend re-setting all passwords in the training system and changing the school logo (we change it to a solid blue rectangle) so people can't mistake the 2. Even if you intend for them to be entirely separate someone will get them mixed up.

I work for a support unit and we have a copy of SIMS Primary for us to learn. Capita has approx. 22,000 SIMS schools and I believe they were only scheduling a small percentage of them for migration in the first year as they wanted to make sure the migration and adoption of the new software was a success, rather than throwing it out to everyone and crossing their fingers. So finding schools using it who also frequent this forum is currently not very likely. I expect migration numbers to steadily increase over the next few years so you may have more luck asking that question again in the future.

Assuming you have upgraded to SOLUS 3.12.41 you can go into 'Settings | SOLUS3 | SOLUS' and click the 'Clean repository' button, this should remove any pkg file from the repository that is no longer valid for the currently installed products or the previous version. (there are some very old things that are still needed as they haven't been updated in a long time so you can't just remove all pkg files over a year old without getting rid of these files. e.g. the Borland database stuff)

Assuming you don't want to use any of the pre-existing ones you can create your own through the 'Reports | Design Report', then select 'Create a New Report', and for the data area select 'School | Class', select the Class name, and Students Sub Report (don't put anything under the subreport, that way it will return a number) and if you want it for a date other than today put a prompt at runtime on the effective date.

yes that's correct. I would recommend using XPath to find/replace so if you want to alter where an equals formula points you could use the XPath /TemplateFileV7/TemplateNode/Template/FormulaNode/Formula[./Type=17]/ColumnIdOrder/text() The syntax of whatever tool you use may vary slightly

If you mean the assessment Manager Templates, then the formula use a reference of the column number away from the start of the template in its formula reference, thus changing the column header won't mandate updating the formula

Assuming you are talking about SIMS .net and not the old DBase version then you can apply patch 11602 to the database which will reset the password for the sysman login to password which will allow you access to SIMS.net and the System Manager menu routes within it, which you can use to reset passwords for other users or create new users.
