UniFi APs by any chance? -
Should really be putting it through a framework. Just submit your requirements and then you can compare. 0.26p mono is expensive. Currently paying 0.19ppp Units are 65ppm colour & mono with all the above additions. Rental cost a shade under £1000 per year under 3Y agreement

Chromebooks coming back with non-working or disabled trackpads
SomeITBloke replied to MrEprise's topic in Hardware
Had similar issues with the C202SA, at one point was having 1-2 a day being reported. Ours was down to the mb / trackpad fly lead becoming damaged. Looked like a design flaw as the cable would rub against the trackpad under heavy handed presses and break. -
Having the same issue, what is the oldest board v3 will run on?

Question for those of you who work in schools that actively use Facebook Pages to promote their school. How do you manage access when you need to use a personal account to create / manage a page? Plan was to create a generic account and then create a page, this worked to a point, but is unable to run ads until verified, but obviously that's not possible and is also risks being banned as a fake account. Tried creating an account using a school email in the name of the HT. Facebook banned the account within an afternoon for violating T&Cs as a duplicate fake account. After more research, it seems the only official supported way to do it is to use a genuine personal account, create the page and then add at least one other genuine personal account as admin too. This isn't ideal, but I see no way round it? So suggestions please.

Students creating Google Meets even though disabled!

Check that Meet hasn't been enabled via a group that the pupils are members off. -
BT have given away free BT WiFi vouchers to schools to provide internet to those families that don't have access. I had a similar issue with the redirect going to gstatic.com, not had a chance to investigate it yet though.

Morning all. Trying to help out a parent. Their childs laptop has sustained some water damage and it's only a few months old. Everything is working fine except a number of the keys, but as with all new machines its seems, the keyboard is integral to the palmrest. The shop won't touch it, and the cost for HP to repair it is more that 70% the original cost. Does anyone here have any good contacts for HP spares they could share? Thanks in advance.

Where G Suites/Google Workspace is lacking - management tools
SomeITBloke replied to localzuk's topic in Cloud Services
Hi localzuk To help influence future feature changes or additions in G Suite, I encourage you to provide feedback about this directly to the G Suite Team by following these steps: Click Help > Report a problem. Enter your feedback. Although the product team is unable to respond to individual users directly, they review this feedback regularly and use it to help improve the product over time. The more users who have this request, the more likely it is the team will make a change. Agree admin management is poor. Case in point there is still no inbuilt way to add external contacts to the Global Address Book have to use the API Thanks to Googles user first methodology, Admins are just power users really. And £30.00 for a device license it just the start. Come Workspace for Education you just know the standard free version is going to be a storage limited. Want more? Go Enterprise -
Another option is GAM. Easy to import your pupils via csv and add them to OUs groups at at the same time. Can then use the same cvs to mail merge login cards.

ParentMail as a service isn't fit for purpose at periods of high demand. Used it for 3Y and every snow day, without fail, the service went down. Moved to another provider and have never had a problem since. Can only imagine the stress this going down would have caused schools and staff this week.

In that case those are quite expensive costs. That 12 month volume would cost £12,350 with our copiers

I do wish they would provide a service that worked consistently.
