2GB + Rockchip CPU. Better to be looking at 4GB models at around the £200 mark along with support until 2023

Yes was looking into Virtru as well as it look perfect with it's tight G Suite integration. But after 2 phone meetings and them wanting to give an 1h online demo plus the constant requests for who makes the decision, how it is made, when it will be made, what budget figure has been set aside they still won't divulge pricing. Avoid.

But doesn't support support casting from Android or iOS unfortunately.

Android Tablet Management - GSuite MDM

Not available for G Suite for Education - https://support.google.com/a/answer/7129612?hl=en -
Yes, but if any pupils were a member of Classroom Teachers, they would see the blue bar. Admin console settings are fine also. Has been working for the past 18 months as intended, just started happening recently. Seems I'm not the only one. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-education/nKuwJjwdF0k

Anyone else experiencing issues with G Suite not applying YouTube content restrictions that have been set in the Admin Console? Have noticed an issue where videos that have not been approved are available to those that have strict access enabled. Also same videos are still shown when a user is not logged in to Youtube even though DNS is setup to force strict access for users that are not signed in.

I have just received the email stating that our cluster is being upgraded next week. From experience of the previous upgrades what is the probability of connectivity issues after the 22:00 - 06:00 Maintenance Window? Our school is hosting a very important meeting the following morning including members video conferencing in so our service MUST be operational.

IIRC Annual isn't available for G Suite Education.

Primary school hardware (swapping computers for iPads?)
SomeITBloke replied to Blue_Cookeh's topic in Hardware
Neverware is also another option. There is even a version for O365 now if G Suite isn't your bag. https://www.neverware.com/office365/#office365title -
How do you find not being able to pull off custom reports though? Currently trialling the full version as the Free edition for Chromebooks is a prefect fit but as good as the on screen reporting per user isn't ideal and really need some kind of whole use export here.

Another vote for Chromebooks. Some good Edu devices coming through. The new Lenovo's look interesting. As mentioned CloudReady is another option - https://www.neverware.com/edu#edutitle. Minimum 30 devices for the purchase of the licences, looking at around £10.00 per device, per year. Been Trialling it on some 9yo Dell Optiplex 760s and it's ideal. - if you contact them they will provide some trial licences for you.

Netsweeper with Schools Broadband
SomeITBloke replied to TMBS's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
But that's not going to cut it when pupils don't have AD accounts. Not to mention the fact that the service was purchased with G Suite auth support so IMHO any replacement should have the same features. -
Netsweeper with Schools Broadband

What is the latest schools will be moved away from Lightspeed? G Suite Auth was the key feature of choosing Schools Broadband over other suppliers. What are the options to schools that don't want to use the Netsweeper option? -

Question for those who have moved from Lightspeed over to Netsweeper and run Chromebooks. Can Netsweeper authenticate against G Suite for filtering profiles & monitoring logs in the same way Lightspeed does? -
Both the MAT and each Academy need to publish statutory information on their own websites. Check the funding agreements to find out exactly what information you must publish. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/what-academies-free-schools-and-colleges-should-publish-online

Home - Building Regs required for removal of internal wall
SomeITBloke replied to timbo343's topic in General Chat
Yes, and you'll need a structural engineer to calculate the RSJ required.
