Quick and simple command to find which mailbox an email address is associated with in Exchange Management Shell: Get-Recipient [email protected]

Copy it all into a new spreadsheet then try from there? (If you can copy it, that is). Is it just this one spreadsheet or does it happen to all? If it's just this one spreadsheet, does it occur on different computers? Have you tried restarting your computer (sorry for even suggesting this!) - it may be a caching issue.

Redacted a couple of software items. Above is our general start menu, I have another for Accounts. All of these work with the understanding that for some reason randomly some of the tiles do not map when the account is logged in for the first time. We allow our staff to modify the layout - this is more of a guide to get people started (they cannot modify these groups, but they can unpin these & pin other stuff). RE things not mapping properly - the same computer, log on one account and it's missing the 'Shutdown' shortcut. Log on a second account and it's also missing one of the redacted shortcuts. Log a third account on that has been on a Windows 10 machine before (we use roaming profiles, their profile is already on the server in this case and it should just download it) and find that both of those icons are there but we're now missing a third icon. I have no idea what/why/how/who/when/where is causing this issue.

Getting Mailbox Statistics in Exchange 2007 - TechGenix looks to have the relevant commands, using Exchange Management Shell.

The StartMenuLayout.xml file can only pin anything that is in the Start Menu on the computer it's applied to when the start menu layout is applied. This means the software needs to be installed on the PC, and by extension the .lnk files in the Start List, before the layout takes effect. See this guide https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/customize-and-export-start-layout for help on exporting a start menu layout. I exported mine using Audit Mode after I'd installed all of our software, but we don't use SCCM, WDS or MDT.

When we first took students' fingerprints it was for our canteen system, and was before it became an 'Opt-In' thing; parents (or students in Yr 11/6th form) had to actually write in to say they didn't want their fingerprint being taken. A couple of years after we'd move to biometrics it became an 'Opt-Out' system. Then we had to get consent from every student's parents. I think we combined it in the welcome packs for new year 7's, and were able to work with previous consent based on the fact that we already had existing staff/student's fingerprints for everyone else. Just something to consider, especially with GDPR, if you do want to go down biometrics... As an aside, Active Directory logins were enabled on the Sharp MFP's to allow those without fingerprints to log in. Staff gave their logins to students to collect work for them from the printers. Some were intelligent enough to change their password temporarily whilst they did so, give the changed password to the student, and 10 minutes later change it back. Still not acceptable but at least it showed a degree of common sense, rather than just "Oh I trust Little Johnny/Jane to not do anything with staff permissions".

Back at the secondary school I used to support, we got rid of printers in each of the classrooms and most of the ones in offices. Replaced them with a centralised solution - MFP's from Sharp with biometrics linked to our canteen system (separate readers were required and attached to each of the printers, as MatthewL mentioned). We used Biostore as our software. I don't recall any problems with it specifically, it did the job we used it for and that's what mattered.

From the looks of it you'd need VBA macros and/or custom formulae to detect the number of sheets, get the names of them all, write that out to an array, then you have your list of students. Next get each set of data using a loop and write it out into the one sheet. Now you can summarise from your flat-file sheet into graphs/percentages/whatever you need. For a project like this I would need them to define a specific goal. What do they want the spreadsheet to actually do, in simple terms? Get them to explain the exact analysis they need, and why they need it - if they just say 'Oh, well, I want to view all students' progress in my class' then that's not specific enough for you to work with. Ah, thanks for clarifying - I was confused at first! Cheers I've changed the GPO so that instead of creating the shortcuts, it now copies them from my NETLOGON folder into "\Start Menu\Programs". I'll edit this post when I see if it works (my Windows 10 test machine is currently installing updates, so it's likely to be tomorrow).

Hi ReadTheNetwork, Thanks for assisting. Please could you clarify what you expect to happen when I make this change? The "Lock Computer.lnk" path is correct in my current XML file and works when I navigate to that file manually in Explorer. Does changing the path and adding "\Programs" do something that I am unaware of? Edit: This is the Start Menu folder (navigated to using the "%AllUsersProfile%" path in Explorer, rather than "C:\Windows\...")

I've got Chrome installing via Group Policy, and the Start Menu layout was exported (although modified heavily using Notepad++ since). However this tile is not appearing (there's a blank space in the Start Menu). I've verified that the .lnk does exist, and the last modified date is when Chrome was first installed shortly after I imaged the machine, so I know that the shortcut is there when the local user profile is created by Windows. Windows 10 Pro x64 1703. Some of the tiles are appearing and some aren't. Full XML below. I would greatly appreciate a pointer in the right direction, and hopefully it will help someone else who may be having this issue. Lock Computer, Log Off and Shutdown Computer are also not appearing. They are created correctly using the 'Shortcut' section of GPO and appear in the Start Menu. I can post that GPO as well should it be required.

Depending on what the server is used for, and what the specific application is that is giving you the error, means what you are looking for might be different. A quick Web Search for 'MySqlSiteMapProvider' resulted in this Stack Overflow link. Thanks Rob, yes there's a reason - we would like our users to be able to customise them to add additional tiles if they want to. As I understand it, Redirected Start Menus don't allow this. I didn't realise this would work - This is what I've now done: Create the shortcut .lnk in the "\\DOMAIN.FQDN\NETLOGON" folder In Group Policy Editor on the domain controller gone to "Computer Configuration" -> "Preferences" -> "Windows Settings" -> "Files". Right-click -> New -> File Action is "Replace" Source Name is "\\DOMAIN.FQDN\NETLOGON\ShortcutName.lnk" Destination File is "%CommonStartMenuDir%\ShortcutName.lnk" Thanks for your help folks (Don't know if this is allowed - If either of you PM's me a postal address then next week I'll ship a couple of packs of EduHobNobs out! )
