About MisterP

  1. Tell me about it....
  2. Thanks for the response , but each pupil will have a sheet and I need an effective way of collating them into one sheet.... pupils will be added as well. My plan is to create a second sheet in the work book and flat file the data so that I could use the consolidate function in Excel to put all of them into one sheet... Sorry not the best description of the problem.
  3. On the first day back a member of staff has asked, is it possible to to use my data collection form in Excel to do some data analysis.... looking at the form (see image) they have cleverly distilled all the information in to a standard form with different sections, my first thought is to create separate data sheet and consolidate but there must be a way to read the forms and enter the different cells into a database - thoughts / ideas? Happy New Year
  4. Hi, we're using Adobe Connect more and more, and the issue that we are having is how to share a an online document so that more than one person can annotate, I think we're hitting the issue around sync 'ing but I'm not too sure. I'm thinking that using google docs might help or is there an document sharing tool that we could use in AC? Ideas:) We are a Hospital PRU and therefore are using more remote delivery before anyone asks it was initially one 2 one but more group sessions are being organised. Thanks Mark
  5. Hi, this has probably been asked before but we have a few Ipads, been looking at Meraki as a means to keep some order but this doesn't offer any controls such as Netnanny or the ability to make sure they switched off at night (unless I logon and do it manually) they are ipad2's and with IOS8, they also seem to be missing the app store (I'm assuming that the previous Tech removed it) so my thoughts are; to use Itunes on my PC to upload some monitoring software - any suggestions? (Needs to be able to lock students outside of 'school' hours) use Meraki to install the MDM - so that I can remotely update and possibly geo-fence in the 'school area' any ideas, advice gladly received many thanks
  6. Hi, yes thats about right - are there any PRUs or others that have done this, happy to contact via email. Surely it could be done without Nova - just create the framework for the timetable. thanks
  7. Hi, another question on a different thread - How can I add to application status again we have a pupils through out the year that need to be admitted. They also may leave an return, does application status report to any of the states (ie cenus) if not could I add INACTIVE-PENDING TUITION, INACTIVE-DECLINED and INACTIVE-RECUR PROV as part of the selection Otherwise how do others (possibly in the PRU sector manage their pre-admissions? Many thanks
  8. Hi,The situation is that each pupil has a very personalised timetable - has anyone got a similar set up on SIMs, the issues that I have identified are; a) pupils can start their lessons at different times so there is no core timetable (its more of an appointments scenario) b) Lessons can range from 45 mins to 2 hours c) it changes for pupils and hence staff need to know what they are teaching. As you may guess we aren't working with large groups and one solution would be split the day into small slices and teach across (but how would this effect the 'register') or to have standard sessions and maintain a 'real' outlook type calendar and the template in SIMS (double entry!!) We need to capture lessons as and when they happen- SIMs is the LEA hosted solution. Currently staff text in the lesson and this is stored in a database (this has the issue that it is reliant on staff texted the right name and then we have to run a report to manually update SIMS). Any ideas? Thanks
  9. Eddie, did you get any further with this - this is an issue that I am looking at. The Data is useful (as soon as I can work out who I will contact) kind regards Mark
