Migrating Solus3 to a new SQL version - Simple steps
TwistedHelixis replied to TwistedHelixis's topic in MIS Systems
All up and running, phew. For anyone with a similar issue, in the Solus3 folder is the Solus3 connection String Editor, enter the new server instance and then restart the solus service and after a few minutes Solus3 should be working. -

@bobsmith Thanks but when I click that link and login i get.... We are sorry, the item you are looking for may have expired or been removed. Alternatively you may not have the required access permissions to view this item. Is the name of the file I need actually called SOLUSDatabase install, If so I can ask my LA for it. -

BTW when I open Solus3 all the agents statuses are listed as offline, including the Sims server. This is after updating all the instances I can find in the GUI from 2012 to 2016. Everything else seems fine in Solus3 I have also just had a look on my LA FTP server for the SOLUSDatabase install software you mentioned but it is not anywhere, are you sure this is the correct name of the software? -

@MrMat I have just migrated Sims / FMS and also imported Solus3. Just realised my LA have not supplied me with SOLUSDatabase install software you mentioned. Any chance you can share this with me as I really wanted to get this done and dusted today -
Always get ours from Dell, your school will have an account manager that can give discounts over the online costs. Last time we got 47% discount but that was a few years ago.

I am a bit of an audio junkie and cant stand listening to music on cheap speakers, although I can't actually afford expensive speaker :0) The last portable speaker I had was an UE megaboom and although the quality was much better than most in its class, it was still not wow. I can just about afford the following. Both get great reviews from a sound quality perspective. Apparently they have a very full sound and go down to 30 / 40 hz without blow out and can easily fill a room. Bang & Olufsen Beolit 17 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker £350 https://www.johnlewis.com/bang-olufsen-beolit17-portable-bluetooth-speaker/p3172286 Harman Kardon Go + Play £250 https://www.harmankardon.co.uk/HKGOPLAYMINIWHTEU.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjw6IfoBRCiARIsAF6q06sfJEgMp1m5KNVu6f89QQh8g5WSVEeKS1bp0TXCH4p1Ww5FNF5hTKMaAv1BEALw_wcB My problem is that I probably will not be able to listen to either before buying, as I don't live near anywhere that has them in stock, and it is a lot of money on something I have never listened to. Has anyone listened to either of these or got any alternative options?

You could create a new windows install (VM) and see at which stage (adding to domain, moving PC to OU, logging in with certain credentials etc), the proxy gets changed.

Hi, Just taken over a new primary school and they are using Unifi AP. No handover docs for this school so decided to have a look at the WiFi settings. In UniFi under settings > network > edit lan the IP listed under Gateway / subnet is a home IP 192.168.1.1 The school network is 10.Xxxx but obviously having the 192.xxx range is not causing any issues as all the laptops and iPads are running OK, but wanted to check if this is correct setup. I also notice it has DHCP enabled using the 192.168.2 range.

OMG you do not have any socks, would you like mine :0)

I think we might need to share the drive based on an hourly rota, as based on the days people have requested I will not get to use it. Can I have Thursday between 9 - 10am :0).

How about I use the ssd drive for a while and then pass it on :0)

@MrMat Its the first few bits I could do with some more info, if that's OK. What is the best way to take a backup of the Solus3 database and then detach it and re attach it? Is this all done from SQL Manager or some other tool?
