Or do not use the shortcut but the app itself, just type 'file' in the search box and click on 'Google file stream', only takes 5 seconds :0)

We do have that, but its not really seen as an issue as the users just click on the File Stream app and it maps the G Drive within a few seconds. EDIT - Although not recently

If anyone sets up endpoint to control which devices can run File Stream can you post back. I have no time at the moment to look at this, but am really interested in real world usage.

OK so the script below does copy the folder with both files but it deletes the older files based on the amount of days the files have been in the destination. What I need is to always keep the last couple of backups no mater the date, similar to the script above that works with one file. EDIT - It also does not create a new folder or filename for each backup, I think it is just overwriting the old backup which is no good.

Would that be devices management / setup / device approvals?

I think you can disable the need to authorise, otherwise how have some computers got listed in my system?

When I look in endpoint i have some devices listed but not all. Seems like some devices have just added themselves and some not

I think you can do this using devices in G Suite

If you mean the desktop shortcut don't use it, just use the normal G drive in File explorer. BTW we have been using it at 4 schools for over a year without any real issues.

Thanks for all the advice. I have decided to create the new head an account using his initial+surname@ and forward any emails from head@. The school have most of their documents in G Suite Team Drives so if the old head needs anything else (old emails atc) I can give them limited access and migrate anything they need.

Hi, I have been trying and failing to write my own script. I have setup a test folder on my laptop and have used the script below as a start but I still end up copying just the iSCSIVirtualDisks folder and not both the files in the folder. I also found a completely different script online but that did not even run. For anyone that has jumped to this last thread - I now need to copy a folder or the contents of a folder (2 large files) from the C drive to an external USB drive. The folder to be copied contain 2 very large files and the external USB will only be able to store the last 2 copies, so I need a way to to backup the files in to a folder with the current date / time and also need a way to delete older backups from the USB. The script below works perfectly when copying just 1 file to the USB but I now have more then one file in the iSCSIVirtualDisks folder to get copied :0) Sorry, I know I am a pain in the bum but would be very grateful for some help.

Agreed but this is a very small primary school with about 8 full time staff (that includes the teachers) and I trust the office staff less when in comes to phishing issues, but that is a different thread....

Sorry, this could have gone in a few other forums, please move if not in the correct one. We have a new head starting at a school. The school currently has the default head@ acc that the current head logs in as, but I am wondering if the new head should just get a new email acc using their name and then forward all emails from the head@ acc? The school is also a G Suite school so this account will be their main way in to G Suite. If the new head simply takes over the old head acc I can see pros and cons to this, they will have easy access to all the past emails, documents etc that the old head had but is this then a data protection issue. What are others doing?

90% of all our files are cloud based, with cloud 2 cloud Spanning backup. For the few bits onsite that need backing up (DC etc) I have an onsite iSCSI server. I then wanted a way to have a few backups either offsite or in the safe which is where the USB drives come in.

OK rebooted the server and my original file works but not the one with just the folder name

Yes, I can only fit a few copies of this folder on a USB drive. I will also be using more than one USB drive which will get switched each week.

Just ran the script and it does not work with just C:\iSCSIVirtualDisks The script deletes the older folders, creates the dated folder with the iSCSIVirtualDisks folder inside but the files are not copied.

Hi all :0) Currently the source is set to $Source = "C:\iSCSIVirtualDisks\man-vd.vhdx" If I wanted to backup the iSCSIVirtualDisks folder rather than the single file in the folder, am I OK simply deleting the \man-vd.vhdx section? Basically I have a few other files in that folder now that I need copying to the USB drive.

We have always gone with more expansive tablets after learning our lesson getting some cheaper ones. The last few batches we got were Samsung Tab S2. This is in a primary school and we got the first batch of these almost 2 years ago.
