I've got 26x of them across 3x schools, running a range of software versions and a wide range of hardware from Core 2 duo to i5, XP and Windows 7, every single one of them does this.... It's not huge, but definitely noticeable - - - Updated - - - Mine are all under 6 months old, new variant perhaps???

Almost loath to say it (got neg repped last time!!!!) With a cheap switch, if they sag, i'd just use zip ties to pull them up straight...it does the job..

Well true best practise... Don't buy cheap switches with naff brackets, then it wouldn't be an issue. When you go cheap and cheerful, cheap and cheerful fixes come into play...

I generally use zip ties if they droop, loop a big one round the back then loop one either side and hook on to the rear verticals in the cab.

Another vote for Unifi, does everything a primary needs, have schools using from 4 to 40 and it just does the job nicely, cheaply without fuss and expensive support contracts. They are the best value by far. Millgate & GCI are my suppliers

Really! that many in one area, I seriously cannot remember the last time I saw one, everyone here either uses iphones or Android based, odd few nokia's but not a blackberry for a loooong time, last business customer who had one (liked the keyboard) went at least 18 months ago. You'll be telling me you've still got PC's with Vista on next! ;-)

HTCPCP - in a primary where you're using an unmanaged system, please check out unify, you get a managed system for the price of an unmanaged and will give you load balancing, centralised control. Just no reason to go unmanaged these days...

Hi, Upgrading the speed isn't really an option for us at the moment (problem of being a 'very' rural primary) we don't have an internal proxy, and with only 1.5Mb to play with i'm not sure we'd really be able to prioritise enough bandwidth to allow admin to have guaranteed access and keep curriculum working. Don't want to go down the load balancing route as we don't ever want curriculum using the 2nd connection (as it's unfiltered) We purely want curriculum using the SWGfL filtered connection using their router and admin going to the unfiltered connection.

Hi, Got a small village primary with a ridiculously slow adsl connection, 1.5mb a lot of the time. As soon as a few ipads or laptops start looking at things, it grinds to a halt, this is becoming more and more of an issue for the head and admin officer as it's stopping them from working at times. They're having to try to do anything web related in the evening after the kids have gone. Anyway, they've asked if they could have a second connection put it, just for them. So could I get BT to put a new line in, another router, and set the default gateway for these two PC's to that router? Am I being stupid, any reason why that wouldn't work. I know that connection isn't going to be filtered, kids users can't change IP, staff don't have know how to change IP settings, so I see the risk of anyone being able to get onto the connection as essentially nil.. Obviously they don't want to lose access to the server, copier etc, so do need to stay on the same network. Also we don't want to put any real money into this, configuration change etc, as the village is due to get fibre in about 18 months time (apparently) Thanks

Can you log on as anyone else? Would definitely recommend booting in safe mode and a full scan with malwarebytes. Had this recently and a DLL file had been deleted by a virus, couldn't log on till the file was put back.

It will obviously take time to setup (depending on what they want/how many) Make sure your wireless is good (Unifi is a fab option for a primary) keep things simple at first and you'll be fine!

Hi, Most of my schools only have 3 hours a week of support, most have ipads, either a trolley or two, not been an issue Ipads have been very low maintenance all in all, really wouldn't worry too much.

What you have to know is that it's not like most visualisers, it's essentially a little android based device, more like a tablet really!

Either that or use bypass mode. Cable it between laptop and projector, so vga out to projector and vga in from computer, press computer button so it goes blue, it will show PC display, press computer again, light will go red and it will show the visualiser view

Hi, Proxy should be fine, doesn't need to talk to the internet. Plug into a screen or projector, plug in a mouse. Click menu button, bottom right, may be off screen if the resolution is wrong, then click the wireless symbol, follow the instructions. MAke sure you give it a sensible name. Then open the software on the pc/laptop, click the visualiser button and it should appear in the list after a few seconds. Click on it and image should come up!

Oh, if when you plug them into the projector, the image comes up corrupted (lines across, or just garbled) you've got a faulty one, apparently a bad batch (we had three out of 5 replaced)

I thought these were awful too, had two schools buy them, the visualisershop people were really good though. Sent someone out to give me a walkthrough as the instructions are awful! You can't plug in just via USB to act as a webcam, they have to be on the network, wireless is pretty straightforward though!

Hi, First thing, plug a mouse into the usb socket!!! Press the computer button, so the power light goes red, then you#ll get a menu come up! Click the settings button in the bottom right, should get you going!!!
