  1. Look at Argos refurb can pick one up for £100-200 everything has looked brand new that we've recieved
  2. I haven't seen any updated drivers or any of our team mention one, if anyone has a link to one, I'm happy to try it and see what it does.
  3. Oh this is interesting, we've got one of these or similar, one of our team tried getting it to work but to no avail, going to keep an eye on this, almost one of them things you could spend hours trying to get work and end up with it not
  4. We had a Zebra 300i and moved on to a Magicard something or other and was fine
  5. We've got a Pc in a lockable cabinent with a wireless keyboard mice AIO, no one can get to the PC, all they can do is use the keyboard and login, so the worst that can happen is the keyboard goes walkies Projector they can use the remote Sound they flip a switch and it all turns on
  6. My old school - pc's everywhere bar PE one or two had a laptop as main device and drama New school - Pc's everywhere bar a few "higher staff" having both In my ideal world, I'd just have desktops everywhere, would imagine we'd get a million tickets for laptops not connecting to the TV/Projector, sound not playing, the wireless not quick and that's without people forgetting chargers, damaging the devices
  7. We did have a Zebra 330i then got some enduro magicard thing, printed using Paxton and Badgemaker(looked like the oldest program in the world or at least the version we had)
  8. G suite We transfer - if it's nothing sensitive or contains any real info
  9. We use Spicework cloud, I'm sure there is a lot more indepth options on the market but it's fine for us
  10. We use 65 inch normal TV's, normally around the 500-600 mark thesedays, we've been absolutely fine with all of them bar the one which had a cup of tea thrown over it, they've been no better/worse than the commerical panels at another site Richer Sounds have got 75 inch LG for a 1,000
  11. Main IT rooms left to right numbers, with the teachers machined named teachers Then the classroom machines named Room03 etc Then non-teaching machines named after the room or the staff member if very specfic, ie HEADSPA or SSMITH
  12. I think Google were looking into this, there was a beta going for something to do with SIMS and Google
  13. We've had this with a few PC's, only issue from memory was running a few things on CMD, I'll see if I can find them online but the way the apps are installed you need to run some commands to get them back to normal etc
  14. How are trusts going towards cloud? Use this or else? How you supporting/training staff - I don't think training should be an IT issue thing anyway, I'm not a trainer How you dealing with the inveitable, I don't like this, I prefer the old email system, it's also confusing, basically blockers
  15. Home folder x GB Network shares - trying to push google classroom, drive and so forth as much as possible
  16. Has anyone done this, we've currently got device licenses what is the difference? 120 user licenses is that just we can only use it with 120 logins/users? A lot of the adobe stuff is convoluted
  17. Has anyone done this, we've currently got device licenses what is the difference? 120 user licenses is that just we can only use it with 120 logins/users? A lot of the adobe stuff is convoluted
  18. Google forms?
  19. I think just using it is the best method, I used it for three years till someone offered me a training course on it, I attended it utterly pointless waste of money by the school. With a lot of things you'll make out the little tips and tricks that aren't in the books etc
  20. Good idea, even more so kids that age won't require any windows specfic software I should think
  21. The amount of times I use that in meetings "can we implent this" Yeah fine, no real issue, give me a bit of time but.......I can't force people to use it or use it for them
  22. I think though people need to use the tools provided unless super urgent like the school is on fire or snow Late at night, schedule send or drafts till the morning, add to keep/sticky notes, 99% the email isn't going to be vital that it needs to be sent that minute People need to be more accountable to IT and others, rocking up 30 seconds before a guest or someone similar needs something urgent is totally inappropriate, I think we should be allowed to say no and that all requests have to be logged x days before, but trying do that and you'll end up in a meeting or the naughty list -ie the emails of someone emailing at 10pm for the next day and then next morning why isn't it setup I have no issue the head or anyone ringing me if urgent
  23. From looking quickly is Trello just like an upscale Google Keep with more functionality
  24. It was over something completey non-urgent too, I could answer it three weeks it was that non-urgent. Yeah I use that all the time, I'd hazard using that tool might be a step too far for some staff to work out.
  25. I got an email this morning at 4:50am I think the biggest thing is honestly just don't be a dick, don't email late at night or silly times in the morning, it's the same as ringing phones and knocking on doors, it's just polite, common courtsey.
