Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)
keyboards replied to Dos_Box's topic in General Chat
I've seen so much information on it, so it only tells you if you've got corona, as I'm similar to you that I think I've hard it I might get it done though for the sake of my parents who are older and potentially at risk -
When people are giving out laptops with things like PP? Looked after children fund etc? Who are they classing the equipments as, the schools or the users
-
I get a similar feeling....This was annouced as there wasn't actually much of a plan with it.
-
I think some schools/staff are underestimating the cost of dongles and ongoing costs, say what 20-30 a month, looking at what 300 a year just in mobile data costs on going
-
Just seen this thread, we've had a few emails on this last few days, people asking for devices Is anybody clearer to working out what is actually going to happen? As I don't know what we're meant to do currently, buy the devices or something else
-
Not sure you can go that granular, almost sounds a bit, big brother In the google admin console, if you go audit, then login, you can see the ip and time of every time a user logged in ie [email protected]
-
Anyone else been amazed by the number of tickets you've got, till today where it has dried up a little. Annoying ones are when there is issues with the user machines/action not the actual systems we've brought in, ie students powerpoint starting in safe mode, isn't really my doing

Yeah, sorry meant client, yeah I'm veering to towards the MSI route, just seeing if anyone has any pros or cons, as in my view I would go MSI, it's just some of the sites have been setup logon script network share wise but personally I would always go MSI
-
Hi Just want to gauge what people are doing for papercut, installing the MSI via GPO or logon script with a network share, as currently got a few sites doing different things and want to uniform it, I was leaning towards installing the local Msi everywhere. It looks like some of the repo companies setup the local network logon scripts Thoughts? Sorry meant client

Call their bluff, involve your union, anyone else you know with legal experience, they will soon go weak at the knees You are massively in the right, on a number of counts, not just protection from the illness, discriminatory practice, and various others

I've been trying to follow the last pages, I work all year round, I have no holiday booked, but am I reading it right I could be forced to take say two weeks at Easter, against my will? -
Even if the risk is minimal though, it shouldn't really be done, surely? I like playing maths and odds as much as the next person but if I went to you there is a 1 out of hundred chance theoretically you could catch this or any illness, most of us would say no I don't think to refuse to put yourself in a potentially dangerous scenario for yourselves and others, is not being part of the team, it may be in SLT's and other eyes but certainly not in mine.

Personally I'll be saying no, no matter what, unless the servers have gone off. I've contacted my union and a law friend or two about the exact requests.

Seems utter nonsense and madness to me! If not a bit selfish putting you and others at risk, directly against all government, world health organization advice.

And not the entire world's education system is relying on systems we brought in, maintain, update and continue to look to the future too, madness. If when we ever eventually go make to normal, if a few peoples attitudes haven't changed to our role, not just pay but attitude, respect and so forth I won't be in this sector for much longer, well that applies to everyone really digging in these times even more nhs workers and so forth -
