  1. Hi all, tried all the above suggestions but still no joy. Anything with the pen is jagged: Tried updating the serial card driver too (MCS9950MF\STN_CASCADE_COM) without much success. Tried baud settings of 9600 and 38400 etc. We're on Win10 x64 so limited to Activdriver I can find too unless anyone has an old one knocking about?
  2. Hi, we have a few serial boards still (ie 1st gen, no USB socket) and we've installed serial cards in the new PC's. The writing is very spiky, a circle becomes a hexagon etc. Any particular settings the serial port needs? Win 10 on pretty decent spec, can only assume it's the settings, baud rates etc..???
  3. We have an Evolis Dualyis that gets hammered, and is pretty reliable. Done 600 this month too.
  4. Music and ICT Technician | Penwortham Girls High School This is my wife's school (She's Head of Music, so I have to declare an interest!) and the Network Manager is also a friend. An Outstanding Girls Comprehensive school.
  5. https://sennheiserusa.happyfox.com/kb/article/231-what-adjustments-can-i-do-to-improve-sound-quality - - - Updated - - - Yes, on the lectern on a small stand?
  6. Use the handhelds with a higher gain setting, like -12db? On the actual mic
  7. Now and then, yes.... but it's mainly to scare the kids off!
  8. Canon's from Maintel
  9. Yes please, do AV/Theatre stuff here too so quite a bit of soldering!
  10. I'd like to know too, we use it as a "techie tool" and class management, but obviously would like to explore safeguarding a bit more...
  11. I have a Varidesk:- https://uk.varidesk.com/en-gb/products/standing-desk-pro-plus?o=Size:36%20inch;Colour:Black Work paid, it's very good and also a monitor stand when seated normally!
  12. We have an NEC U250X projector that doesn't power on at all, no lights or indicators. Anyone any ideas or decent repairers? Thanks!
  13. Yes I'm on untappd
  14. Booths is best if you're in the North West. I'm picking 2 barrels up from Fuzzy Duck Brewery on Thursday for our staff do.
  15. We use MiFare cards for doors, lunches, library and printing. End up printing around 20/30 replacements a day sometimes, quite a bind.
  16. Similarly, 5 years running ipads. Now have 1500 student and 100 staff, with 100 spares. Agree with everything above. I think we're giving them a device to distract, especially at home, that then the parents can't confiscate because "they need it for school" Not a fan. We used Meraki, and now InTune.
  17. We get this, and have for years. Just have to reboot them and they reappear. Apple told us it's because "they're a consumer device, not enterprise". Very helpful. If there is a solution, I'd be glad to hear it!
  18. We have a spreading problem, affecting more users daily.# Uniflow/Canon mfds as follow me printing. Work printed by some people/from some machines gets printed in an incorrect font. Always the same (Old typewriter) style, no matter what the original document is. This started with a couple of users, but more and more are getting it now. Profile resets don't seem to help, we've tried new drivers and our provider, Maintel, are struggling to help too. Any ideas?
  19. We've been Meru (now Fortinet) on AC for nearly 4 years. Some minor issues, but generally fine day to day. We have 1600 ipads, and 300 domained Laptops. (1220 connected, in use, as I type). Support is ok, we've had a new controller under warranty (although it turned out to be software) but stuff needs to go back to France for repair.
  20. OK here
  21. We used to have Virgin, but are now on 1gb BT. Great service generally, only had one downtime and that was when everyone else did (fire somewhere I think?). Price is good too, but we bought as a few schools together. Separate lines but a joint bid. 1600 pupils, 200 staff. All O365, all ipads.
  22. We previously had some Juniper wifi, it was perfectly fine at the time!
