We use ours, for both email and website. However at the end of this academic year we are stopping. For email anyway. As RM charge the LEA about 28k for the whole authority per year.

I have it hosted locally on each machine. It resides within the windows directory. Placed it there as we have monitors of all different sizes was not sure how to do it otherwise. It is called from our script. for example c:\windows\bginfo\bginfo.exe /i"c:\windows\bginfo\students.bgi" /accepteula /timer:0. But as I said it has just started happening on these machines yesterday and today. I was using 4.14.0.0, but I have changed it to 4.16.0.0

I have a wierd problem with BGInfo I think. Everything has been fine. I did some updates on wednesday night and today we have a this:- You should get the second desktop, but on some machines randomly it seems you get the first. It looks like a massive minimise button If you re run the login script everything works fine. Just seems to happen on initial login. Anyone have any ideas???

We have one of those giant JENGA sets in school. Tell you what the staff use it more than the children. Most of the kids don't know what JENGA is. I mean if it does not have a controller and is not connected to the the TV, thay aint interested.!!! Still fun for the staff. I feel a tournament coming on!!!!

I had the same problem. The kernel updater does not work behind a proxy. Try looking here: Browse FOG - A Free Cloning Solution Files on SourceForge.net Download the kernel you need and place it in the fog/kernel folder. Then update the host kernel information with the path and file name in the information for your host. You will need to do this will all of the effected hosts. Hope that helps.

Doh!!! I found I was installing the plugin for Firefox not active x for IE. Ooopsie!! But I did get that from michael's pack from Logisitix. A quick search round the net found me my active-x msi.

Is anyone else having problems with Flash 10.0.32.18??? and shockwave 11.5.0.601???? I deploy them via GPO and they install fine. However if you try to use them the website claim that there is not a flash or shockwave plug in installed?? This has me a little baffled. Any help would be great. Ta

How would I go about allowing some activex controls to run automatically. As in they are already installed on the clients. But they are requesting right click to run etc. Ideally a solution via GPO would be the best. But any info would be great Ta

We have a bell system here. But has not been used to signify the change of lessons and break and lunch for 4 or more years. It's there primarily there for fire alarms. I think that this has an advantage that when the bell sounds the children know it's something exceptional. Was strange at first, but now I am used to it so I am not bothered now. Plus my office is connected to one of the ICT suites so I can gather when lessons change from the noise or lack of it.

Basically the L shaped brackets that allow you to mount a switch in a data cabinet. Hope that answers what you asked!!

Are you sending out office 2003 sp3 updates?? I had a problem with WSUS 3.0 when I approved sp3. Nothing would download at all. I trawled google and found that if you approve sp1 then decline the update everything starts to work. I did that and then manually did wuauclt /detectnow and all the updates started working like magic. Turns out that microsoft did something to sp1 and it messed with the updates. You could try that

Yeah, we have it. Our MFL head bought it. The year 7 & 8 kids love it. Also they get exceptionally competitive with some of the games that have scores. Seems to very much worth the investment.

Update!! I now have my machines. It turns out that Dell are supplying a xp install disk which is pre activated. IT also does not have all of the dell software on to. So you can use that!! Bonus!!

Do what I do, We have 32 dell optiplex 760's arriving next week. We will ring up microsoft and convert the vista business codes to xp. Then we install xp with the code provided by microsoft. Simple!!

To answer your question, well it's simple we only set up fog this year prior to that machines have been setup individually. So not so much re image as image for first time.
