localzuk, I like your app. I am trying the latest version. I have set everything up as per the readme. But I just keep getting an error saying the server is not operational. Yet the previous version I used worked, well with an error. But it did reset the password. Just did not force change password at next logon. Any ideas?

With the Rugby world cup in full flow we have been asked if we can setup access to view the games. I looked at the streaming Freeview via VLC from the ANGRY TECHNICIAN blog. But the frequencies listed in the medion support forums only work for the first multiplex for pontop pike. Does anyone know where there is a list of current frequencies? Thanks

I I remember coirrectly I just used the SMTP server for the mobile phone network I was on and everything worked fine. Or at least I'm pretty sure I did. It was a long time ago. But I do remember being able to send email from easymail acct on iphone.

When I had an iphone the only way I could get it to work was to use imap. When I used this it worked fine.

I would be interested in finding out how would be the best way to go about this digitally.

I did not need to switch the UAC off. Just enabled the remote registry service and off I went!

Not sure if this is related, but when I first tried to install sophos 9.7 from the enterprise console I could not get it to install. Turns out that the need to set the remote registry service to automatic, as it set as manual. As soon as I enbled that it worked fine. Hope that is some help

I am a rather large motorsport fan, I was reading an article in Evo magazine. It features Mark Higgins and his attempt on the production car record for a lap of the TT course. I am in the process of moving across to 2008 r2 from 2003. I have setup the new server and made it a DC after upgrading the AD schema. I am now wanting to move DNS over so I can demote the existing DC and then install R2. Does anyone have any advice on how to do it? I am planning to do this tomorrow morning, so help before then would be appreciated!! Thanks Anthony

We are always learning, just sometimes it pushes some old stuff out nowadays!! ok, just me then.

Go to computer management, either on the server or your machine. Open shared folders and open files. From here you can close the files that people have open. Then you can replace the file. People can then open the corret document. Hope that helps

I am currently in the process of setting up Win 7 on our domain. I am using RSAT on the Win 7 clients as at the moment we are only on Server 2003 R2. Everything is working fine I have created a central policy store and configured the machine policy and student policies. However when a user logs on for the first time they do not get our Bginfo background displayed. We use local profiles and it is being created in temp folder in profile. It just does not display. When you log on after that it displays fine. I just can't get it to display when first logging on. Any ideas?

We have had 4 or 5 of these exact amps go with a relay style buzzing noise as you describe. We have a local electrical engineer that repairs them at £25 a time. Got to worth a shot looking locally. Better than buying new.

Have you tried declining the update and then manually syncing the machine with WSUS by running wuauclt /detectnow? That should get WSUS to tell the machine that there is no new updates. I have done this in the past and it worked fine for me.

No the licence is bound to the institution not the machine. So you could install 2k3 server on the new server no problems. But if you want to format and re install an os on the original server you would need to buy a new licence to cover your second server.
