  1. You will not be able to install the drivers from the Intel website. Or should I say I couldn't. Would only accept drivers that I downloaded from the Dell site.
  2. We are moving over office 2007 in the summer. I am currently trying to iron out all of the kinks. One problem I am having is when a user uses the program for the first time they are being asked to fill in details to personalise office. I want to be able to fill that in automatically. Does anyone know how to do that. I have looked through the GPO's and nothing seems to jump out at me. Many thanks Denon
  3. Each port is for a separate fibre run. There are two strands of fibre one for RX and one for TX. We have just recently removed all but one of our fibre convertors. They are a right pain. For what you are talking about 5k maybe a little on the low side. I think it could be done but you would not have any 'spare' money for a contingency. I always like a little left over. But that's just me.
  4. Well I always think "What ever works for you" is the way to do it. I mean there are usually several different ways of doing most things.
  5. I have only had one failure myself. This was when trying to preserve OEM pre-activation. Other than that the GUI works fine.
  6. I imported it through the catalogue 4 weeks ago and declined it then.
  7. I manually added it in to WSUS using the windows catalogue about a month ago. I then promptly declined it!
  8. Staff and pupils here use local profiles with redirected my docs and favourites etc
  9. I just made a script that will push out the desktops to each machine and store it locally on the pc. A simple xcopy script does the job nicely. Could use robocopy or what ever you fancy really.
  10. I can't find that option either. But can you not shut the source down manually and set the VM not to automatically power on? Then you can power up the VM after the physical host is switched off.
  11. little-miss, You really are addicted to the colour purple aint you!
  12. Why not just use the MSI and install it via GPO?
  13. Yup. See I told you, brain fart!!
  14. I think I am having a brain fart but I can't get this to delete from registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "SunJavaUpdateSched"=-"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe" Trying to do this with .reg but can't get it to work. Will someone help me??? and put me out of my misery!
  15. As said before installed locally on a server and shared. But I can't stress how much I hate this program. It is evil!
  16. We have this, can't remember exactly how we have it setup. I think we may have setup a share on the server, but I will check first thing tomorrow.
  17. Ooooooo drink is involved? Now that changes everything! Where and when?
  18. New layout? But I don't like change.
  19. Ah, not quite north enough for me. As I am just north of Geordie land.
  20. I do see..... but I am still none the wiser!
  21. Did I hear you say north east? Where abouts????
  22. Hmmmmm...... You must be very bored!!!
  23. Not sure about GPO, but could you not just setup a profile the way you need it. Store it centrally and update the profile info in AD?
  24. Now I can see it!
  25. Nope not working here. North Tyneside. All I get is connection refused!
