  1. Thank you for your kind reply Banjo, where can I get this file please? Any documentation on how to use it as well? Kindest regards J.
  2. Thank you Edu-IT, the documentation notes that come when budget is released (Budget notes). Last year it didn’t show it as FSM but within deprivation column it showed one single amount but this year notes it shows it separately differentiating Ever 6 and FSM. The whole idea is to find out how much FSM (in terms of value per child) government gave to school so that I can calculate the catering cost. For example I have catering income (non-FSM parents who pay for the meal)+UIFSM+FSM then expense side is Catering staff cost, catering provisions, catering equipment etc. In short, I need to know have we been in surplus or deficit with regards to catering. So far I have the UFISM and Non-FSM income but trying to get FSM value. Kindest regards J.
  3. Thank you for a prompt response Edu-IT. I really appreciate it. So you mean the meals are separately calculated. The documentation is showing £440 for FSM and £540 for Ever 6. Is that per pupil and is it yearly amount? In which case it would be £440/195=£2.26 a day per pupil. This leads me to a question what is the difference between FSM and Ever 6 please? Is FSM are new applicants during a census day and Ever 6 are already FSM kids? Kindest regards J.
  4. Interesting discussion, I wanted to understand whether pupil premium amount is only allocated for the meals or dopes meal amount is a proportion of pupil premium? For example PP per person is £1320 and that is per academic year which means 195 days 195 days. £1320/195 is £6.77 a day. What proportion of £6.77 is allotted to meals? Or is it all of it is given towards the meal, considering it is only lunch time when the meal is given? Did I make this confusing? I just need a division so that I can calculate the catering costs. Many thanks J.
  5. Thanks Banjo, we have a standard version SQL 2016. Would I simply install the SQL server and move the SIMS installation folder and run the setup files. I heard there is a SIMS Migration tool but looking into SIMS MY Account, it only shows SQL 2014 Migration tool. Although we are on SQL 2012, 2016 is where ideally would like to migrate. Many thanks once again Kindest regards J.
  6. Peer 2 Peer environment.
  7. Would you be able to share the pdf please as I am thinking along the same lines. We have a P2P machine and I'd like to migrate SIMS to new Win 2016 Server and SQL Server 2016. It is going to be a dedicated server so wouldn't require an VM setup, just need instructions how to move the database and setup instances. The above link shows 'page cannot be found' error, hence my request. Kindest regards J.
  8. Having a peculiar issue, after prepare and pushing the device name, profiles and wallpaper settings, when the device is ready, I click on English, United Kingdom, Wireless settings and it comes to apply configuration page, when I click on the apply configuration it says invalid profile. If I click back and skip profile configuration, it works. So what's the point of configuration profile? There is no error message as to why the profile configuration is invalid. I never had this issue with AC 1.7.x. Any help will be highly appreciated. Kindest regards J.
  9. Have you actually looked at the school filter running a realtime report by entering the affected device ip to see what is being blocked while accessing youtube. You do need to whitelist 1. YouTube.com 2. Ytimg.com 3. Googlevideo.com Additionally check how https decryption is working. Good luck and keep us posted Kindest regards J.
  10. Spoke to Apple and now started creating Apple IDs again.Though I must agree and admit that this process is a nightmare and unsustainable. The more devices School gains the more issue we're going to have with these IDs. Getting a paid MDM is def on the highest agenda in the proposal. Kindest Regards J.
  11. Thank you Brimstone, both point noted and were somewhat known. I know for a fact that I created previous Apple IDs with appleid.apple.com and had none option, so not sure if the first point is correct in its entirety or maybe I got lucky last two years. I agree, reading my previous post comment, it seems like I am relating the payment option with whitelisting, it certainly not the case, what I meant to say above was a suggestion to put Schools registered domains onto whitelisting so schools can setup Apple IDs without any issues of blacklisting and also provide simpler registering methods. Something similar to managed Apple IDs but having an option to push apps as well. Edit: correct me if I am wrong here but Apple also has a tendency to keep Apple IDs regardless of deletion or deactivation if created using Apple School manager (managed Apple IDs). I made a mistake creating a managed Apple ID using our domain name and then realise it never push apps, I then deactivated the ID and deleted it. I no longer able to create the same ID even though it is deleted. I should have created managed ID as [email protected] rather than [email protected] Kindest regards J.
  12. Perfect. Thank you so much. Kindest regards J.
  13. I agree I should have added these too however I am not sure how to edit it now - to add them? Kindest regards J.
  14. The idea is to see which MDM is rated highest in terms of flexibility and features in people's experience. I completely understand the fact that not everyone would have tried every single one of the listed MDM. Kindest regards J.
  15. Latest from Apple/iTunes support Kindest regards J.
  16. Hmmmm so if you remove the Meraki profile from one of the affected iPads and use the same Apple ID you created, the video from YouTube plays fine? I would also try and take the affected iPad (with Meraki Profile) outside of School network and then try and play the Youtube video. This will def confirm it is not your school network/inhouse filter (unless you proxy it). Keep us posted with your findings. Good luck. Kindest regards J.
  17. Thanks DGardiner, we already have a Mac Mini running caching server. If we hadn't one, it would have been a nightmare to support iPads in School. I agree we could use Profile Manager and set it up to support iPads but then migrating VPP and DEP and setting it all up again; it is time consuming. Kindest regards J.
  18. Thanks Brimstone, I used iTunes on Macbook but didn't get the option but then again I didn't buy any free app. Will try this method. Many thanks Kindest regards J.
  19. I agree with your thoughts there, paid MDM is the way to go. Kindest regards J.
  20. There could also be a restriction policy from Google Admin portal if you have separated/divided Student and Teaching staff into different sub organisations. You can set different policies for different sub organisations. There is also an option in Meraki to restrict age group but then it wouldn't allow to even push Youtube let alone installing the app, running it but not showing/playing any videos sounds more like filtering.
  21. Good evening all, We use legacy Meraki MDM so rely on Apple IDs to push apps and restrictions via Meraki. Previously when we used to setup Apple IDs we had to go to iTunes and review the account, normally it was pretty straight forward, you fill the details and when it comes to payment option you click on None and all setup and done. However this year iTunes review account does not show/provide None option. I did contact Apple to find out and one of the engineers told that Apple removed the option if we setup accounts via appleid.apple.com. So the question to people out there who are on the same boat, 1. Have you found an alternative to it other than signing up to paid MDM version? 2. Which Apple website do you use to register student Apple IDs ? (Please note: managed IDs do not allow to push apps) 3. If you have managed to find the none option when reviewing the account, what did you do to achieve that option please? Your help will be highly appreciated. P.S. I know the future lies in paid version of MDM and I might have tried all options available with regards to Apple IDs but even then I thought I would ask, perhaps someone else is in the same shoes as us found a solution? Many thanks in advance Kindest regards J.
  22. Filter issue? Is your web filter like Smoothwall, Lightspeed, RM filter or firewall blocking it?
  23. We're with RM and hardly have had any issues, infact I find their support really good. Though I would like to have higher bandwidth with competitive pricing Kindest regards J.
  24. Prior to 100 device restriction there was one with no restrictions whatsoever on number of devices however when the demand increased, Meraki chose to offer a paid version (further development on paid version only) and later redesigned the free version with 100 device restriction policy - they did not force customers out from the legacy system nor discontinued it, which is where we lie. Kindest regards J.
  25. Do you have the 100 device limit Meraki Systems Manager? We have an earlier version. I can bring the DEP devices into Systems Manager but cannot allocate any apps as there is no option to do so under Meraki--->Apps. Ideally I would like the zero touch non Apple ID device enrollment system, which I know, is only possible with paid version of any MDM. The biggest challenge is not setting up iPads with AC and enrolling onto Meraki but to setup Apple IDs and then making (and hoping) Apple to whitelist them so that we do not have to enter any CC/DB/PaylPal etc. There is no "none" option available anymore if you create apple IDs from AppleID.apple.com - Moreover when you run Review under iTunes, whether you click account or (to some) Redeem, it does not give a "None" option under Payment. To me Apple should allow Schools to create Apple IDs and those IDs should be used to push apps or perhaps allow Schools to register with Apple and whitelist their domain or something. This would allow Schools to push apps and restrictions without any issues. (Managed IDs are not the same as what I mentioned earlier) Kindest regards J.
