  1. Gmail iOS app doesn't work but it works perfectly through the browser, weird thing is, two iPads exactly same versions same updates, one works one doesn't. When you click the app it says Go to inbox or start tour. We click on go to inbox and error appears. Regards J.
  2. We use educating people route, haven't implemented any restriction, just awareness on a constant basis along with report of ink usage to the year group and also to principal. We have copiers with passwords on but hey, everyone knows them - we didn't tell, people talk about it, give and take favours. You can't stop that. What happens when ink finishes, you replace it. Will you charge your staff for print credits? Does it affect the ink usage. We saved 1000s of pounds through educating them but yes it wouldn't work everywhere. Regards J.
  3. I am looking at these two 1. LG 42LX330C 2. Samsung SMDB40E Both strong contender. Not sure which one to go for Regards j.
  4. Some of our users are constantly having issues with Google Mail Gmail app on our iPads (gmail ver 4.1 and iOS 9.1). Most of us have Gmail app working perfectly fine yet others get the following error when they load the app. An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later No firewall or web filter issues have been identified on specific devices, it's just random. If we try to access email from safari browser, it works perfectly but app wouldn't work, no matter what. We also tried removing and reinstalling but no joy. We have checked the clock and it's correct, ran a web based captcha but still no luck. Anyone having same issues? Or have fixed them? Kindest regards J.
  5. Good evening everyone, I have a question regarding Aruba Partnercare and costs associated with it against what you get. We have been asked to renew ours but I am not really sure if it's worth doing it or should we save that money and spend it on worthwhile products. We most probably upgrade our wireless APs next year. Has anyone or is still utilising Aruba PC? Kindest regards J.
  6. Well you have a cert that doesn't have a password, worst you didn't know there was a blank password and when the customer called you, you tried all sorts of a passwords that you knew or taken from the sticky notes on your computer screen, you even tried your colleagues who told you more passwords to try until you asked 2nd line guy to re create a cert with a sensible password and everything seemed to be working fine. Not to say, you didn't fix the system, you just emailed your customer with a new cert file, system issue remains where it was - a nice workaround and a quick fix, but not a Solution oh and you boast about you being the best and number 1 in UK schools (how....???) no one seemed to ask you that question. Regards J.
  7. I hope they are not counting your credits. What seems to be the problem as in how much has been rectified and what's left? We might be able to help, crowd sourcing is powerful you know Regards J.
  8. Please accept apologies, never intended to naming and shaming anyone 'personally' - the difference and frustration is professionally based, and not personal. It wasn't intended nor would ever be intended to personally target someone. Nevertheless, I also sympathize with the frustration people get from Companies, it not employee's fault, Companies should provide adequate training over and above their greed. We're in Education, we strongly believe in education (respecting people is one of the factors of education), and educating people. Remember, making mistakes is natural but someone somewhere should rectify them with responsibility.
  9. Which digital signage would you recommend that can play videos and news feed etc please? Regards J.
  10. Yes please and model number as well if you don't mind. Kindest regards J.
  11. Spot on! Well done - such an experience it was.....am glad things have sorted at your end. Kindest regards J.
  12. Thanks guys, really appreciate your help. I am looking at the compute stick. I was also looking at the Panasonic TX40CS520B 40inch but I believe if we can get compute stick then size doesn't matter. We can go up to 48". Kindest regards J.
  13. I am not going to name and shame publicly . Am sure they've got plenty lower end engineers or in other words trainees handling new implementations. They know little or nothing about things and until you push them you'll never get anything out. I believe the company needs a real push especially with their tired old system, it needs a complete revamp and also their support services. One thing they are good at, their sales team is not 'pushy' as many others out there. Regards J.
  14. Good evening everyone, We're looking for a television for our entrance that'll play school dvd and music at the background in a loop. I've been looking at many different TVs but unfortunately cannot find something suitable. Has anyone setup something like this in school? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated Kindest regards J.
  15. Thank you Zerohour but that is only possible with one or two devices not 200+ iPads. Apple is simply being irresponsible and arrogant with this stupidity. They promoting their devices for education and then they're adding inappropriate content without any kind of moral social or ethical responsibility. Soon they'll allow adult content on the device or something horribly inappropriate for education use. Disappointed...... Regards J.
  16. The Company has no idea what they are doing to be honest, we had the same issue of lack of communication and then had an issue with kids able to access content then had an issue with their own certificate asking for a password that their own team didn't know about. Then they had an issue with swgfl upstream proxy and oh yes it doesn't really work with OD, well their engineer who tried to setup told they had never done it before and on every support call, they look for their help files, and guess what, the help files are outdated and doesn't contain any useful or sensible information. Their new update capris brook v5 doesn't allow you to check update history. It keep opening same window within window in a loop. That's their improvement progress. Poor service Poor customer service Poor communication Poor understanding of own products Poor integration No iPad authorisation and authentication method other than silly logins Oh and don't forget they claim to be the best and # 1 web filter company in UK. Other than that, it's all great. Please do update us how you got on.....
  17. Evening everyone, Hope all is well. To my surprise after updating our school devices to iOS 9.1, kids are able to see mid finger emoji which am sure to all extent inappropriate for School use especially primary schools. I tried to find a way to remove it or disable it but failed to do so. Has anyone found a resolution to this new issue that Apple decided to bring out with profound irresponsibility. Kindest regards J.
  18. Yes because it resolve the Airdrop issue we were having in our school between iOS and OS X
  19. Sick and tired of caching server, stuck on so certificate and registration failure for the whole day now. Really annoying, status is Pending all day long no matter what I do it doesn't move from that status. Grrrrrr
  20. I've setup a caching server as well and although it's somewhat working my issue is related to iPads not always looking at cache server to download iOS updates or apps. The caching server automatically goes into 'pending' mode and all of a sudden register itself and start to work. It's stop and start issue is causing me a headache. Not sure what can be done. Regards J.
  21. Why the caching server keep getting failed all of a sudden and then takes quite a long time to register again with Apple? Should I change the caching server port to 80? Regards J.
  22. Ok looking at the logs for caching I have noticed the following error message Oct 16 11:28:44 "server" AssetCache[1351]: #w0akDo0W3OD Request by "itunestored/1.0" for http://IP:50067/us/r1000/174/purple6/v4....dpkg.ipa?source=a1865.phobos.apple.com denied because server is suspended pending successful registration. Have no idea what it means Any further help will be much appreciated. Kind regards J. Now it says Registration succeeded. Resuming server. The startup status is ok, registration status is 1 active is yes cache status ok
  23. Maybe I have spoken too early? Although the cache has been built up to 20GB I don't think it is actually working. Well my doubts are because I must have downloaded three iOS apps 100 times by now but each time I install it onto the new iPad it drags the entire internet bandwidth. I don't understand why it's doing this, although the server shows reach iliac and all iPads and the server are using same public IP. I tried using all networks option but that didn't help either. Kind regards J
  24. Well I only use local subnet instead of all networks option. It has started to work and cache has built up to 12GB and most of it 99% is made up of iOS and nothing else. The idea is to save capped bandwidth we have as when I start updating iOSs or download apps or apps updates through Meraki it brings the entire network down. It happened today as well but then my guess is, it is because cache hasn't been built for certain apps.
  25. Thanks for a quick reply Jammann, I wanted to get caching server up and running so we can consume less bandwidth, it seems to be working. I also enabled software update but later found out that software update requires a DNS configure. I haven't done that and left caching server to server.local.
