Like everybody has said it a massive hike and you have to question the quality of service and developments. When i spoke to our Business Manager she indicated we have no chose but to pay it as it has come so late in after budgets have been set.

has anybody else been given there schools pricing from OCL for this year, i did notice in this months newsletter from them, they said costs for broadband had finally been released. I thought it would be about 50% at most. @dgsmith so what has yours gone from to if you dont mind me asking.

service desk plus here for the last 6 years, i agree most of the features are not need by a school but it can be customised to fit your needs etc. I like the reporting function and we have just set up our site team up with another version of it. Also if you get the version without assest management for us on a 5 tech licence it only worked out at 600 quid.

I know quite a few schools around the preston area moved with a company called Virtue Technologies, they were offering a like for like service to what One Connect/Cleo offered. i.e. boardband, filtering, email, moodle and A/V. For SIMS support you could go direct to Capita.

yep we are finding repeated issue with moodle.

navaho works well here, it does need a little bit of time setting up but once up and running its a lot nicer than powerpoint. the fact that you can display a variety of different content on one screen was a big draw.

Have to agree with the comments above we have just installed 2 65" CTouchs and the response from staff and students has been positive, but we are only putting them in depts/classroom that can justify using the touch features. I know our D+T dept is being refreshed over the summer and he would just prefer TV screens and it makes our lives easier not having to install projectors etc, i think as we replace IWB/projectors over the coming years it will either be with a TV screen or a touch screen.

We have 25 of these all in ones from Dell in our D+T dept, Dell Vostro 360, and the cost wasn't much compared to the price of a similar spec desktop and monitor.
