Been looking into purchasing a wireless projector for use in college, it will be used on desks as well as beginning ceiling mounted for presentations etc. Looked on a few computer suppliers’ websites and found quite a few that matches the only problem is; I am a little confused I thought the wireless was built in but it seems that it has a PCMCIA card slot on some. Will it take any PCMCIA cards or just the ones that the company sells? Any help or advice as to good wireless projectors would be really helpful too.

The ICT Co-ordinator has just come to me asking if I can found out about the above software, that will do virtual tours for part of a multimedia project for DIDA the students are doing next term, and was just wondering if anyone here has bought, using or knows of any software products out their. Did a search on Google and didn’t come back with much.

Cheers guy's, will have a bash at it, have already been looking at buying surfcontrol to give us more control and filtering locally rather than using the county councils.

I don’t know if any one else is having this problem, but having banned a lot of websites at both a local and county level. The students are using proxy bypass websites to get around ours and county’s proxy servers as well as the firewalls. Has any one been able to stop them doing this with out having to block ever single websites that does this? We are using Windows Server 2003, with ISA 2004.[align=justify]

I’ve had a similar problem running the tests with a group of 30 computers at least one of the computers will either just freeze and I’ll have to restart the computer and then get the student to log back in and resume the test. or when they have finished the test and the DPS is closing and sending the data to the APS at least one of the computers will again freeze and I’ll have to shut it down from the flight deck, and this is total random, happens every session on no particular student or computer.

Does anyone know were I could buy second hand HP printers, preferably HP4000. We used a guy from Wigan and he charged 165 quid for a HP4050, but after letting us down a few times, we have dropped him. The ICT budget wouldn’t really stretch to nearly 400 quid for a brand new one or two.

Been running it for about 6 weeks already (we were a pilot school last year) found it has more problems than last year, keep having to restart the postmaster service every once in a while. Also been using some wireless laptops to run the practice tests on, is anybody using this set up! also like probably most will find the GUI is total alien to some of the students, and they find it as hard as hell to do some of the tests, the best way I’ve found (muggings here helps out in YR9 ICT lessons) is to have one session going through step by step how to use it, saves a lot of the same sort of questions from students.
