You need to update the Mac software first just to make sure you're fully up to date, you can do this by going into the App Store, either by going to the spotlight at the top right hand corner or by clicking on the bar at the bottom of the screen, click on updates, then there should be an option to update the Apple Configurator software and it will update to the latest version.

When I rang Apple a few weeks ago about the font size changing on the iPad lock screen since iOS 9 and Apple Configurator 2 come out and they said there's no way to change the font size on Apple Configurator as it has changed because of iOS 9 and that's how it'll always be. Bit annoying as I like the old font size as it's easy to read, bold and clearly says the iPad name, where as the font is too small and not bold now [emoji53]

Katalyst* do you mean there's an option on Meraki to stop the students from changing the lock screen wallpaper background and adding pass codes? If there is could you point me in the right direction to enable this??

Apple configurator 2 sort of works but it's not exactly how I want it to work... Basically, we've got the iPads already supervised from the older version of Apple Configurator, I would create a new profile, call it 'iOS 9 restrictions', all the iPads need to be updated to iOS 9.0.2 for the new profile and restrictions to take effect. I updated one iPad, removed the old profile which only had wireless network settings on which took me two minutes to re enter the SSID and password, on the restrictions tab of the new profile (if you want to stop students from changing the wallpaper background and adding a passcode etc) set those restrictions, be sure to set a passcode to remove the profile though! Now plug in the iPad, make sure there aren't any profiles on the iPad, click the name of the iPad, then go to add profiles, find the new profile you've just created, apply the new profile to the iPad, now go to the settings on the iPad and there shouldn't be the 'wallpaper' or 'passcode' option anymore. It takes a while to get used to but this is what I'm having to do on 255 iPads one at a time. I've logged a support call with Apple as they must be an easier way to set the restrictions without updating the iPads to iOS 9.0.2. Also what I've found is, if you unsupervise the device you can't 'prepare' it again, this is what I've rang Apple about. I'll get back to you soon and let you know what they've said. Hello, Does anyone know how i edit a profile that was created on the older version of the Apple Configurator before it was updated? The profile is still working on the iPads, just whenever i try to edit the profile there's no option to edit it, only create new one which i don't really want to do because i can't remember what the profile settings were. I am wanting to keep the font size for the wallpaper lock screen exactly the same on the iPads, but whenever i create a new profile and edit the restrictions that stop the students from changing the wallpaper the font size turns really small on the iPads which isn't really what i'm wanting. I'm not 100% sure however if you have a USB mouse and keyboard these should still work. Hope this helps. Mdan

Impero is really good for everything, if you want to monitor students and provided remote access to both staff and or students get impero. It's costly but has absolutely loads of features. We currently have it where I work and to tell you the truth I don't know what we would have done without it. Staff can also reset passwords, IT admins (us) can deploy software, set print quotas for students. It's worth looking at. Dan

There's a program for the PC/server, can't remember the name of it something like Colobo print it's not free but certainly isn't pricey. You install it either on a computer or server and the iPads will see the software and then you assign the printer that you want he iPads to print to via the software and then when a user prints from the iPad it will go to the set printer. I've tried it on a 'follow you' printer and it prints out however because of they way our printers are setup, the iPad will print to any printer in the school and you have to go to all 8 printers to find out which one its at. Hello, I recently upgraded my macbook at work to windows 10, all was working fine I took it home from work yesterday and attempted to boot it up but it won't boot. I've noticed this issue before and and we've replaced the hdd cables before and I've done the same today (replaced the cable) that never worked so I swapped the hdd. That then worked, when I got home I then reinstalled windows went to format the drive and it didn't show up but it did at work. When I've tested the drive at home with a Sata to usb cable the drive doesn't power up, so that's now two dead hdds. Any suggestions?? Thanks Dan

All we basically do is: Make a PowerPoint using office 2013 with everything in, Export the PowerPoint as .mp4, Once it's saved, put it into movie maker (if it's not put into movie maker, we get a huge dirty error saying 'Audio format is not supported'), Then it's basically saved and given a name then added to that usb. Hope this helps

Hello, We've (our IT department, as we manage the TV screens) have been given the task of adding music to our Plasma TV's as well as basic advertisements for the academy and general school information and latest updates... Basically we have 7 plasma TV's dotted around the academy with different information about what's happening in that department and basic school events ect. What songs would you suggest, they can't 'mean' anything, like no racism, bullying, or offensive language - if that makes sense? What would you suggest? Answers Please! Thanks again Dan

Hello, I've been working in a school for year and a half, we have over 350 iPads that students use on a regular basis... I'll get to the point; we are currently using Apple Configurator to install apps and set profiles ect that's working fine! We have a profile called 'Meraki Management', on all the iPads in the school to keep track of them and if they go missing we can trace where they are at by using Meraki. My problem is some kids have managed to remove the Meraki profile on some of the iPads, we know which ones as we get emails to say a profile has been removed on ... iPad and it has become unsupervised, i then have to get that iPad and put the profile back on again by re-registering it with Meraki. My main question is, is there a way to restrict the settings on the iPads as students don't need to be on the setting at all, or if not is there a way to restrict the profiles that can be removed? I've looked online and other websites say that the Meraki profile cannot be password protected so I was just wondering what suggestions people on here had and how they manage their iPads? Your comments would be a help! Thanks Dan
