If you’re using MDT to deploy your OS, you can add the ‘remove APPX package’ script into the task sequence, and it’ll run the sequence and remove the unwanted apps, if you want me to show you where to add it, let me know and I’ll send the script across.

Got a strange issue going on at the moment where images aren’t showing up for the students when they open their Google drive, or any Google Docs/slides etc. Nothing has changed in Smoothwall as far as I’m aware, but it’s only just started happening, but not for all students. Any ideas? I’ve cleared cache/ tried IE, tried different pcs etc.

Hi, We’ve been experiencing issues with Google Docs/Slides for a while... when a student inserts an image into a Google Doc, or Google Slides presentation, it shows that it’s saving the changes, but then a few minutes later shows a red banner which says ‘Saving your changes is taking longer than usual, editing is temporarily disabled’. Has anyone got any ideas as to why this is happening, as far as I’m aware, it’s not happening for the staff, just the students. Cheers, Dan

Hi, I’ve tried this, the tills are on Windows XP still, but one of our other tills (the one I’m trying to get working) is on Windows 7 Professional, tried copying the files from the XP, located on the C:\Impact folder to the new machine, installing the ID Manager, BIO Store etc, but didn’t seem to want to work. I’m going back in on Tuesday and going to capture the image from the other till and install it onto the till with Windows 7 on, and see if it works. Don’t really want to pay for CRB support which is £500, for something they press and it work straight away. Anymore help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Dan

We’ve already got a few tills setup, but don’t have any support from CRB, we’ve got another till from a school that no longer needed theirs, how do I install the impact software on to the till, they’re all the same tills. Thanks,

Hi Craig, attached is all I’m getting when I load the IP of the server. I’ve tried 10.31.97.222/classroombookings/index.php but I’m just getting the site cannot be found. I’ve spent all day today looking at it, re-installing Ubuntu etc, but to no avail. What goes after 10.31.97.222/ I’ve created the folder in /var/www/ called classroombookings and extracted the content to that folder. Anymore help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dan

Morning Craig, I've done the steps in the links you posted above, and managed to get the Apache2 web page to show up (like I did yesterday), created the database, copied the files from the classroombookings.com website extracted them to the folder after running the following: $ mkdir classroombookings $cd classroombookings however, I can't seem to run the $ tar zxvf classroombookings-version.tar.gz command, I've changed the 'version' to the version that I download, but it won't run that command. Any more help you can give me would be great. I have also renamed the files database.default.php to database.php and also renamed config.default.php to config.php. Thanks, Dan

Hi, I'm wanting to create a Room Booking System, I've found the following website, Classroombookings - the open source hassle-free room booking system for schools. however, I'm struggling to get it working, I'm new to Ubuntu and PHP etc, so any help you can give me would be excellent. Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to restrict certain columns from being edited, or create a button where it asks for a password to edit the column(s). We've got a spreadsheet which is confidential, but want to hide a set of columns from being shown, or blank out the information from being seen, but don't want the users to be able to edit them columns or see the information without the password. In the Smart Ink settings, make sure you have the box ticked that says ‘Hide Smart ink toolbars but enable drawing over windows’... that was causing issues when a teacher was writing on Chrome and PowerPoint 2016. Dan
