Personally I'd create Deployment Types, it will be easier to manage and is a more intuitive way to handle it. Creating separate applications for each 32bit and 64bit msi would look messy I'd imagine.

Perhaps worth using your position to some personal benefit? Inquire with a few suppliers about getting one device you're interested in as a demo for a week or two, if the school could be buying a class set of some laptop or similar device in the "near future" then you'll need to evaluate what's best for the school to purchase. If you don't like it after a week or mixed use at work and home then try a different device, obviously problematic if you're time scale is a lot shorter but if you can wait a month or so then you should be able to try 2 or 3 different devices. And if you actually get a good idea of what would be a good device for the school to purchase when the time comes to get some laptops/tablets/hybrids then it was a useful exercise.

I played a bit of the closed beta on NA (thanks to humble bundle) but haven't played since the wipe, I need to petition and get my account moved over to EU to play with a few other people I know. I enjoyed what I played of it, mostly going round in low tier cruisers and destroyers and I think I'll likely stick with those classes when I start playing again.

As a former member of the guys with long hair club I do kind of miss it, but I don't miss the extra 10 - 15 minutes it added to my day having to wash it and then brush it (still wash my hair but don't need to brush it when it's less than an inch long).

The Surface with Type cover is pretty nice, it's the harder keyboard and works well for me. I don't use it as much as I used to but it's pretty good spec (even the Surface Pro 2 that I have) and I currently use it for a test lab running Hyper-V with a few VMs in it (and Windows 10 on the actual device). I've played some steam games on it previously and performance was good, it did get pretty warm when doing that but it's expected with any tablet sized device. If I had the money then I'd definitely buy a Surface 3 (or Pro) with Type Cover but I managed to snipe mine from ebay for £500 with cover, which was pretty much the most I was willing to spend at the time. I've heard good things about the Lenovo Yoga as well, not sure how it compares in spec to the Surface but I'd guess it's cheaper (and you're not paying ~£100 for the keyboard).

Just remember that there are two "live" versions of Python, 2.7 and 3.4 (or 3.5 can't recall which it's up to now) and there are some differences between them that will make some code from one not work on the other. When searching for guides/examples it's important to check which version it uses and then adapt it to the version you're using if necessary. As for security, as @Arreks says it's not a big issue in a properly secured network, Python follows most of the restrictions put in place by GPO etc and can only break them with a lot of tinkering and knowledge.

Probably one of those mail setups which uses POP3 as standard so the only copy of the email will be on their ipad, as it's deleted from the server after being moved to the ipad local storage.

You can definitely do the registers in class and set the to each teacher, I don't know exactly how it's done but I'd suspect it's part of the timetabling side of things (or linked to it) in a similar way to how SIMS handles it. No idea about the meals side of it though.

Only on laptops that go home and stay there. They undoubtedly have various software and drivers to install so they'll need admin rights for that. The laptops they take home aren't domain joined and although they have an AD account (another level of recording who has what) it's disabled as soon as they are finished building and updating from SCCM.

Does anyone here have experience of nWoD? I'm going to be playing in a game in a few weeks which will start off human and then go to either Mage or Vampire depending on what each player wants. I've played oWoD Mage before but haven't done anything with nWoD so I'm curious how it plays mechanically and how it compares to oWoD. I'm reading up on the background etc on the wiki now to get an idea of the setting, so far I much prefer the oWoD setting but I'm sure I can adapt to that anyway as it will be a mixed supernatural game.

MDT lets you specify an OU to put the computer object in when it adds it to the domain which would solve that problem. Still not ideal to remove the object from AD in the first place though. @garethedmondson I'm curious why you need to record the last build date of a PC.

PoE's skill grid is pretty interesting and I enjoyed playing the game for a few months but the changes they made every few months that meant rebuilding your entire character (and perhaps making some of the skills you levelled useless) were a bit annoying but I guess it keeps the meta changing. The Sphere Grid was a lot of fun but the general lack of key spheres was the problem for me, although it did at an element of choice to what high level abilities you got towards the end of the game it was just too limiting for the rest of the game.

On both of my home devices I will, haven't decided if I will for my work device but might try it out over summer here to see how it works out for day to day use.

As much as I loved the materia system of FF7, I do like the Junction system a lot (probably second favourite of the customisation systems after Materia). It takes a little getting used to, especially changing what they learn after they learn something new, but it's a pretty rewarding system that leads to some very nice benefits once you figure it out.

I used to use it a lot more than I do now, just don't have much need for it anymore as I rarely have to deal with data or the like in a raw format often. We've got a data team who deal with Excel a lot more and have all their marksheets etc set up in the format staff use and people go to them with their problems. We still get the odd question about it or problems I need to use excel to deal with but it's very rare. Even viewing csv files I'm more likely to just use one of the powershell prompts I have and Import-Csv and view it that way.

Watched expendables 3, which was exactly what I expected out of such a film and a good background film while doing other things. Also watched Kung Fu Dunk on Netflix with a few friends. It's one of those films that works best when watched with friends and probably a few beers, doesn't take itself seriously and was very watchable for the sheer wtf factor that kept popping up.

That's pretty good of them to do it that way. Now I've got more thing to test with it: if I connect my MSA can I still sign in with the picture password rather than text, because I don't know what the text password is for my MSA thanks to keepass. I'll try it later today and let people know in case anyone else has a similar situation.

It's actually pretty easy to install modules (just copy a folder to a few machines) and PS version 3+ auto loads them when you try to use them.

Then I'm stumped on that. Only other thing you could try is using something like NTFS Security to assign the permissions, it's basically just a wrapper for the commands you're using already but maybe it does things a little differently that allows it to work. You might hit the same problem but it's worth a try.

Are you running the script on a DC or from your machine running RSAT? Does the group ownership get added to the users? I've had a problem where groups wouldn't be added as the DC hadn't fully created the account when I was trying to add them to a group, I put in a Start-Sleep -s 5 after the New-ADUser and that resolved it. I'm wondering if it's a similar problem but I guess it depends on where you are running the script from.
