Or as eve uni became famous for "Apply ewar to everything! if they can't lock us or hit us then we'll win"

It's pretty easy to mange once things are set up, most things just work. If you're used to regular profile resets (which apparently is a thing with CC4, I've never really used it much) then you won't have to do that much unless you've got some funky software that still causes problems (we have serif and still have the odd problem with it).
-
I'd definitely be concerned about that. We managed to rebuild ~500 devices last summer through the use of MDT and we had only a few issues with the actual migration. We did have about a year of prep work going into the whole migration project including a lot of time talking and planning with the company who handled the server side of things. I'd use any free time you have between now and summer to back up all your GPOs and get all the packages out of CC4. If possible I'd suggest getting the company to do the server set up (other than AD migration) as soon as possible and just have it all set up with its own switch and a client or two hooked up to it. Any extra time you can get in the summer to rebuild machines and troubleshoot problems (there are always a few) is important.

How do I prevent all users access to the local Admin's My Documents
halbaradkenafin replied to GVadmin's topic in Windows 7
Not sure on why that would be happening but perhaps it would be better to just store the tech folder on the root of the C drive (or in program files so it's less obvious) and that should deal with that problem. -

Do you have a GPO in place to hide the C: drive? I'd guess not but restricting access to that fixes this and other problems you might run into. Shortcuts to applications still work for the start menu and a standardised desktop for students us recommended. What are you using to image the machines? You might want to look into MDT as it handles a lot of the manual part of the post-imaging process (and the actual imaging) including adding it to the domain in a specific OU. You can use fat or thin images and apply applications based on location or device. -
You can play it in 3rd person mode but it's a bit odd.

RVB or factional warfare are for you then. Fly what you want and shoot the other side. If you get bored or want to do something else then drop Corp and off you go.
-
Or RVB is an option, I think they are still going strong and easy for just diving in and out of corp without worrying about it too much or hitting your faction standings (though I think they only get hit if you kill NPCs, I'm not sure I've never done FW before). - - - Updated - - - Blue is for Corp and Alliance mates, they show up blue (or green) on the default overview settings. Purple is fleetmates on the overview settings.
-
That used to be a lot of fun to do but I think it's been pretty heavily nerfed with the criminal system update (and the safety system ruined the fun of ganking mission runners for shiny loot) Many corps/alliances will usually recommend certain ships for their fleet ops, mostly so they can replace them if you lose it, but won't require it unless it's a major op. If they are being really strict about what you can or can't do during the rest of your time then you don't want to be with them. Some do say things like "don't go to high sec during wars" or such but usually put stuff in place to work around that.

What was previously called Server Core is the default now and you have to opt in for Server with a GUI (or whatever final name they come up with). Most of the management can be done via RSAT or PS, the only servers that really need a GUI are those where the installed software doesn't allow you to work remotely with it. Nano server (when it's released) won't even let you log in locally to it.

I'm sure a few of us would be willing to throw a few million your way to help you get started.

Watched Kung Fury recently, it's got to be one of the greatest works of 80s style terrible movie creation.

4 Salvagers and 4 Tractor beams for less flying around. You've got around 2 hours before the wrecks despawn, the actual instance they were in is removed when the mission is handed in but the wrecks stay in space till they despawn.

I think Satya is the best thing to happen to Microsoft for a while in terms of all the improvements we're seeing across their products.

Turn all the settings down and all the effects off. I used to play on a laptop with built in graphics, it worked reasonably well that way and at least let me play.
-
I haven't tested it yet but if it's compatible with Windows 8.1 then it probably is. It might be worth setting up a test machine and installing the tech preview on it and trying all your software. Some stuff might not work now but could on release but not a whole lot is likely to change in the next two months in terms of backwards compatability.

I'll break it down for you - Incursions are a type of PVE where it takes a fleet of ships to deal with, payouts are pretty good for them. T3 is the shorthand for Tech 3, which is a type of more advanced ship (like Tech 1 is normal ships like your condor, Tech 2 is advanced ships/equipment like the Crow) BS is shorthand for Battleship, the biggest combat ships which aren't capital ships Logi is shorthand for logistics ships, the healers of eve who repair either shield or armour for their fleetmates.
-
I'm good for isk, certainly to the point that I can afford an entry level incursion ship and that will pay for itself in a few hours. I'm favouring the T3 ships but that's just because I really like them, a BS is probably more likely or I might go with logi as a way to get into fleets much faster.
-
I may be available, got some shopping to do for a shiny ship for incursions to keep my wallet filled but shouldn't take too long.
-
Pretty much, same as using any other module on a target.
-
It means the one you just got a warp disrupting effect on is about to die and your the one responsible for it.
-
I've seen people fit them on combat ships with the reason "if it starts to go wrong then I can warp off" but that falls apart when the enemy has a warp scrambler (you'd need 2 warp core stabilisers) or you are in a smaller ship than the attacker and find yourself dying faster than you can get away. In high sec most miners won't bother with them as suicide ganking is over before the barge can warp out, and low sec you'll likely face warp scrams. In Null Sec you've usually got Intel channels and pvp ships around for protection.
-
Then they better warp away before I engage them or they will probably lose. Warp core stabilisers have a high impact on your lock range and, as they take a low slot, either your dps or tank (depending on if your armour fit or not).
