Been using Mosyle since... 4? years ago. Pretty much been set and forget. Go in each summer to look at new features and sync new pupils and staff. Don't have a bad word to say about it!

Apple Announces The Apple Silicon M1: The end of x86?
DalekSec replied to flyinghaggis's topic in Mac
Agreed, i sold my MBP 16" couple months ago but planning to go to a new M2 Air at some point. Ideally i'd have 3 monitors plugged into it. I need at least 2! Might settle for an ultrawide ... Atleast my iPad Pro now has monitor support! (on the ipadOS 16 beta) -
EU agrees directive that will force Apple to change iPhone charging port
DalekSec replied to elsiegee40's topic in IT News
Never seen so many people worked up over a charging port before! Both do the job, both have pros and cons! I'm happy with the lightening cable, only thing that will annoy me if they do change is having to buy more cables to replace my existing lightning ones dotted around the gaffe! Also what will happen when the USB-C replacement comes along, how will they allow those onto new phones (Could be fully wireless by then i suppose but that would just be the high end phones) Just let apple use their existing one and everyone else can use USB-C as its common place anyway, dont see the big deal! -
Apple Announces The Apple Silicon M1: The end of x86?
DalekSec replied to flyinghaggis's topic in Mac
Definitely, Windows 10/11 struggles a lot with 8GB of RAM, where as our Macs do not. I have a Mac Mini 2012 with 8GB of ram and an i5. Stuck an SSD In it and it runs like a dream still -

True but how often do you actually use it to deliver data? Never had a lighting port break on me, had quite a few USB-C ones! -
Apple Announces The Apple Silicon M1: The end of x86?

Agreed, Premium laptops such as the XPS, Surface Laptop and M2 Air are normally around the same price. People forget there is a lot more than just cpu, ram and storage specs to a price tag. Apples speakers for example, nothing comes close to them in my experience, amazing screen, amazing trackpad. In a very slim and light case. Apple put a ton of R&D into their products and it shows. -

Issue we have being a Microsoft school is Logic files do not play nicely with OneDrive! Fix i issued is we have a Synology NAS (as linux based) and pupils then save to a network share on the NAS (which is in turn RAIDed and backed up to DPM). Worth seeing what files they are backing up and even if they place nicely with their Google Drive. As may be they get uploaded then scrambled liked logic files in OneDrive (not used google suite so unsure if will/wont)

Static IP on the host, set DNS as your actual DNS servers. Set Hyper-V to auto start your DNS server after 2 minutes... profit? Edit: Our hosts use our local DNS severs (which are VMs) and never had issue when powering them on.

Going to be honest, same as what @CHiLL said, it's not Microsoft's fault your Update policies aren't correct. Moment Windows 11 was announced I double/triple checked users weren't able to upgrade to it and the relevant settings were in places for us (in our case Intune)
-
Only issues I've ever had with MOBO upgrades is windows licensing! I think thats been sorted more recently though.
-
That's my plan for today, I decommissioned SCCM couple months back fully intune now!
-
Think ours comes as a bundle with something else, as i can't see licensing for it anywhere! not in our tenant or MSP!
