  1. To be fair, I have only ever paid 1 month full whack, at £116 (I think - I forgot to ring up and get an offer). Had the full Package, HD, Free Broadband and Line Rental, Sky Go etc - all on main box and 2x multiroom. All for approx. £56 per month for the last 4 years, so not really a bad deal in hindsight. But we are looking to move and cannot be chewed getting tied down to another contract.
  2. Make TVs smart - feed them chips.
  3. I have just taken the step to canceling Sky TV. Last ever month. I feel good.
  4. Perhaps change kill to ban or delete.
  5. Gone green here. Looks snazzy.
  6. Looks useful. I have pm'd you.
  7. Don't know about yeast, but I think I am allergic to lager. I get my hangover before I finish drinking, then the next day my head is really bad. Only happens when drinking lager.
  8. Would anyone else find a centralised document with hyperlinks for the recommended software, or an additional cd/dvd with all the msi's, and shortcuts on helpful? It just seems to be taking forever looking through, downloading the software, creating web shortcuts etc.
  9. UNC Paths are not supported. Needs to be ran from a network drive. Why oh Why?!?! On admin log in, map yourself a drive to the (assuming this is where you copied the cd files to) teacher share (Make sure its the same letter as the teachers use), open it up, find the flash file, create shortcut to desktop, rename. Now copy the shortcut into the start menu directory or where ever you need it to be. Should now pick it up as running from a network drive. Just tested this, it works.
  10. Thought I posted this earlier on, but doesn't look like it: UNC Paths are not supported. Needs to be ran from a network drive. Why oh Why?!?! 11. My apologies. I didn't manage to get time to post it up. Sorry if you were waiting for it. Basically its a bat file that points to the pdf viewer and then runs the licence file on a startup script. ::Script to silently activate the school license for Lock Lizard PDF on Windows XP "C:\Program Files\Lizard Safeguard PDF Viewer\pdcviewer.exe" "\\servername\Server\share\schoolname.llv" /silent or ::Script to silently activate the school license for Lock Lizard PDF on Windows 7 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lizard Safeguard PDF Viewer\pdcviewer.exe" "\\servername\Server\share\schoolname.llv" /silent I have created a locklizard folder in my msi folder on the server. In there is the .msi file, the licence file and the batch file (also a copy of a test document to test). Also the startup script goes on the same GPO as the MSI deploy.
  12. Possibly give users access to modify this folder? - - - Updated - - - I need to go to my second school this afternoon, and my info is on my laptop. Will be able to share once I get setup. Keep your eyes peeled.
  13. Well, this piece of software is installed in my schools Cornerstones don't want you to install on every machine, as we found out, I think the default licence issues is 25 machines, so that rules out the GPO installation out, unless you create a new OU with only -Teacher Machines, PPA machines, Staffroom machines in, or create a new usergroup with teachers in, so which machine they log in at, it works. (and breathe). Also we have deployed the licence file out as a startup script, and it seems to work (there is a section which allows you to create a batch file - will see if I can dig up the notes later). I don't see why they can't just issue a site licence for it, if they want it on all the machines the teachers use :-S
  14. I have seen this and this is what resolved it for me. Teachers were using that website, however the resoloution was set so the full page was not filling the screen (poss 800x600), it went over so you had to scroll down. I then changed the resolution, the full page was displayed and then they could use it as intended. My fix was to set the the resolution, and if they used a program that needed the native 800x600, to change it back once they had finished the program. This may not be the case for you though.
  15. Beefy KP crisps and raita (yoghurt and mint 'indian' dip - Food of the gods. Found it out accidently when I had no poppadoms left. Little cubed potatoes and crispy bacon sandwich - has to be fried together (bacon and potato) with tomato sauce. Crumpets and golden syrup.
  16. I know this is a duplicate post, but need an answer as quick ass possible, if possible, so just sharing it through 2 forums: Could anyone tell me if there is a secret setting on the smoothwall that will cut communication from Profile Manager and certificates to the iPad? I can successfully create an iPad image, push it out via the Profile Manager on MAC OS. However, when I set the smoothwall settings within the manaer to push out, thats when all communications stop, tasks still pend but never complete. I then have to rebuild the iPad. Myself and my colleague have got to the point where it all points to smoothwall. Has anybody had this problem, and have the fix? It pretty urgent as I am only here until 12, so any help would be appreciated.
  17. On this very topic, this is what I came into this morning: Teacher - My computer keeps electrocuting me! Turns itself off afterwards. Is this the rise of the machines? What one-liner can I reply back with?
  18. Didn't really get off the ground that website, did it?
  19. There is a microsoft fixit in place. I think it had something to do with enabling auto updates. i had it this morning, clicked more help and the Fixit page came up. Started working fine after that.
  20. I have never been called by these so-called 'companies', but if I did, I would try and fit this in for my amusment: Windows 2000
  21. Thanks all
  22. Morning all. IE11 is causing no end of troubles for my schools, so I want to remove and block the update centrally. Does anyone have a bat file or GPO rules that I can implement?
  23. I'd love a pizza that chocolate too please.
  24. Check to see if there is nothing dodgy/suspicious in the host file maybe? How can I reset the Hosts file back to the default?
  25. I have lost countless hours to this game, specifically the 2001-2002 version. Its amazing that such an old game still goes very strongly. A legend of it's own making.
