  1. Due to mis-communication, we have 6x Asus USB-C portable monitors. The laptops they want to use them off are HP 250 G7s (the DFE model from when covid and DFE dished out devices). The HPs do not have any USB-C ports. I have tried a HDMI cable to Benifi HDMI - USB-C cable - but it doesn't draw the power. Does anyone know of any sort of hub that I could get that would provide USB 2 from the laptop to the the USB-C for display?
  2. Myself and colleagues have this rolled out to many sites at the moment, and we have noticed that in the morning, builds/software deployments etc are all decently quick and acceptable. However, we see a slow-down on afternoons. We call this the 'Americans have Woke Up' time. Whether or not this is true, but it does seem to coincide - and has been the topic of a few observations from us techies when having a moan. Anyone ITK shed any light on this?
  3. Does anyone here have any websites hosted with the following company - UKWEBHOSTING ? There seems to be an issue, but i am struggling to find any sort of contact details for them, so if someone here is able to save my bacon - i would be eternally grateful.
  4. Yeah, I just got given 50 Kindle Fire 7 devices. My plans are: Create 1 single O365 email account - and then create 50 proxy addresses for it. Will I have to register an amazon account for each device? We will need to put the schools proxy addy in - can they use pac files? Wondering if i would be better off giving them their own subnet? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Not used these before. Cheers Anyone have a contact at Amazon that can help :-D likely no, but cannot hurt to ask.
  5. Still helping 6 years and (nearly 6 months) on :-D Cheers
  6. KMount has pulled through like the superstar they are. Really do appreciate it.
  7. Absolute super star. As mentioned, I will donate to a charity of your choice. Thank you.
  8. If I am being very honest, my budget is very small, which is why I was asking on here. To be honest, don’t need anything for Triple a gaming, just something that runs the above titles at a decent frame rate, which is why I mentioned similar to the card that died. Just trying to be very hopeful.
  9. In my household. The Nvidia 790 GTX that Bedders very kindly sold me me a few years ago at a knockdown price has played its last game. It’s got me through Fortnite, GTA5, Lost Planet and a few others, but didn’t make it to Rocket League which I just got today. I don’t suppose that anyone who has recently updated their rigs may have a card of similar ilk lying around, collecting dust they they would like to get rid of, do they? Back to my ios12 iPad and GardenScapes for now 🤣
  10. We are getting over 700 mixture of Laptops/Chrome Books and Tablets to sort out for surrounding area's. Fun times.
  11. Not sure where to post this apologies if in the wrong place, but if anyone is getting rid of a 24" monitor that they don't need any more (rather than scrapping it) - would it be possible to contact me, see if I could buy it from you? Cheers
  12. Borderlands prequel and 2 on Epic Store this week.
  13. Gotta be a collective
  14. Sorry for bringing this up again, but did this get solved? I had it working fine on W7 but just updated the machines to Win 10 and it is now cutting out when the pupils are using the software. Cheers
  15. I hate these machines. Nothing but issues, even though it seems very simple to set up and run. But that may just be me, as I cannot invest a decent amount of time in it. Sorry this hasn't helped you.
  16. Well I couldn’t get under the floorboards so I got the wago box and found it too big for what i needed. Instead I used the box from the lighting one I got, but put the wago blocks in that instead and it now fits perfectly. Thanks for your help people.
  17. Nothing vertical, and nothing strictly horizontal. About 15 foot either side (this is part of a previous wall separating two rooms - now just remnants of a thoroughfare) is double plugs’ at either end of the house (same wall) but chimney breasts on between on both main walls. (Will try and get photos shortly - be easier to see, than this explanation). It will be tomorrow, in daylight, that I will be tackling it. Thanks for the help and advice people.
  18. https://www.screwfix.com/p/60a-terminal-strips-pack-of-10/42915 https://www.screwfix.com/p/debox-in-line-connector-box/8692h - " This product is good quality, easy to use and maintains electrical double insulation of circuit. The cable grips were a bit fiddly but once closed hold the cable securely. I used these to extend a socket ring circuit, job went well all done floorboards down 2 hours. Well worth 99p " Any of these suitable?
  19. What Amp rating? Would 60A be overkill - for the terminal blocks.
  20. SpliceLine® In-Line Wire Connector | IDEAL Wire Connectors I was looking at these to join them up. But not too sure?
  21. Just a quick one. Replacing skirting in the home, one old piece has a single outlet cut out of the board. Not doing this for the new one. Spoke with O/H and she said we don't need that outlet. Looked at it, can see the power cable powering it, too shorty to move anywhere else. There is also what looks to be another wire going to another socket (running off it) so if I disconnect that then I am worried I will lose power to a double outlet that I use. Is there anything I can use to couple the cables up to regulation standard? Also bear in mind that there is not a lot of space behind it. Possibly able to use an in-line push-fit cable connector if one is suitable. Any ideas people? Cheers
  22. Light rain in Teesside at the minute.
  23. https://signinapp.co.uk/ Is being used in a few of our schools at the minute. Needs an iPad, badge printer and security stand, all of which can be purchased for approx £500 all in. Then the software is free for 15 days, then just a shade under £300 per year afterwards. Really nice and easy to use and set up.
  24. Its not something to do with Legacy/UEFI boot is it? I am sure we had some Dells on Legacy, but was resolved using UEFI.
