Anyone come across a way to unbrick a Galaxy S i9000. I was flashing a ROM using Odin (something that I have done loads of times) and the flash failed about a 1/3 unto it. Like a fool without thinking I rebooted the phone. Now It does not go into download mode even using a usb jig. I have tried all the suggestions I can find on the Net such as holding the 3 buttons and inserting the battery, removing the sim and external memory and holding volume up and down at he same time, using Kies recovery, connecting the usb cable starting Odin and then putting the battery and a few other that I can't think at the moment. I have found one method that talks about shorting two resistors on the motherboard, bit reluctant to try that at the moment. Really just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?........This did make me buy a S3 so it can't all be bad.

I have just bought a Galaxy S3 (not on contract) and connected my dropbox about 2 hours later got the email. Quite a result, going connect the wifes dropbox later and see what happens .....you never know! I think I better edit my Sig being a bit greedy else.

Just wondering how much everyone is paying for a network point install. (I realise the price goes down the more you have.)

Remote access / filtering / user tracking
edie209 replied to edie209's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I have been looking at HAP, but is there a issue with CALs would i have to have a CAL per user? So how about those of you who are using Smoothwall was it worth the extra expense (PM me if you don't want to say publically) And anyone using Open VPN what does that really offer? -
I am looking for some opinions, I think I know the answer but I want to see what other people have to say. I want a solution that will give me, remote access to folders The ability to trace internet history per user Teachers able to switch the internet on and off per room/user Teachers able to temporarily unfilter websites (not permanently) I have had a quote from Smoothwall and I think it is probably what I would like (all down to finances though) Open VPN has been mentioned to me but I am not sure it will do all I want. I would love to here how other people are achieving these goals and maybe other things I have not thought about.

I have MCP MCTS MCSA MCSE MCITP EA CCENT and yes they do get you in the door especially with agencies, but lets face it if you don't use it you loose it, however I get more phone calls offering Linux work than you would believe and I have no Linux qualifications. The one thing above all else that has helped me is being DV cleared. While in Oz it was my Microsoft certs that worked for me.

Just a quick question, we have just purchased a Dell MD3200i SAN to go with a new virtualised environment. The SAN comes with management software and I was wondering where to install this. Should I install in a temporary location and then create a new virtual server to install management tools etc on.

It went through my home ton Saltash on Saturday I have never seen so many people it was about 7-30 pm when it went through it was quite a spectacle however watching it being put on a bus to go across the Tamar Bridge seemed a bit strange.

I use a tiny drop of washing up liquid in warm water, make sure the monitors have not been switched on and are cold (very important I have found ) I then use a nice soft cloth that is damp and warm not wet, and then dry with a soft clean cloth works great and is cheap more to the point.

Selling domain names - what's it worth...?
edie209 replied to BJG's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I sold one of my domains last year it was "thisis" domain when I bought it there was no thisislondon thisisplymouth etc later on I thought maybe I will get some big money for it, but it really depends on who wants it and if you can see its value on Sedo - The world's leading domain marketplace so can they. the guy I sold my site to thought he was going to make big money but he hasn't yet. I say if you are thinking of selling it then sell, nobody may want it and then its free when your ownership lapses. -
MaLT Mathematics Assessment for Learning and Teaching
edie209 posted a topic in Educational Software
Has anyone had any experience of doing a network install of this software? I have it installed and I can run the main program however when I right click on "MaLT5" through to "MaLT14" I get an error "I'm sorry, I can't seem to find C:\program Files\Malt Scorer Profiler 9\bin\Malt Scorer Profiler.exe" But there is no local install. Am I being stupid? I have contacted Hodder who distribute the software but no one can answer the question. So fingers crossed someone here will have the answer -
Write yourself a good basic speech and use some sites like Best man speeches and best man speech material to pinch and modify some jokes so they apply to the groom, but remember YOU will be organising the stag night so make sure you get some dirt on him just enough to make him squirm. I had a few people come up to me after my last BMS to congratulate me on some of the things I said, but remember make them squirm but don't be nasty.

We have SCCM 2007 up and running, but I would like to know how I can manage Hyper V with it. I took a visit to TheScarfedOne and saw it working but I have been unable to contact him recently so I was wondering if anyone else has it working or maybe TheScarfedOne is reading this and can help me.
